I am having the same issues as '5657smarty' - I booked the hotel for 1 night on the 8th July, 2020 but had to cancel. I emailed the link on the hotel website (as there is no answer from the telephone numbers). We were able to change the date for June, 2021 and received email confirmation however, I am still receiving emails welcoming me for the 8th July????? It is VERY frustrating and I have concerns about payment being taken but I AM UNABLE TO GET A RESPONSE OR CLARIFICATION FROM ANYONE. I understand these are unprecedented times but there does not appear to be any customer service or communication available at this chain of hotels. I will not be booking this hotel again.
Just wandered if anyone is here trying to contact the hotel? We were supposed to stay here on 1st August 2020, our music festival has been cancelled & is rescheduled to July 2021. I’ve also sent an email to them, at a loss of what to do next! Only given 1 star as we’ve not even stayed there yet!
The afternoon tea was amazing in every way, could not fault it.. 1 song did play 3 times and got stuck in my head.. I need to know what that song is. @hotel manager do you know the name of this song, it seemed to be played as someone walked into the afternoon tea room.
Stayed to be near my dad who was passing away the staff were very considerate we will be returning to Southend-on-Sea for his funeral and staying again can’t thank them enough gave us a lovely quiet room away from the hustle and bustle suited our needs tremendously
Stayed here as went to Stewart lee show at Cliffs. Ideal position for short walk to the theatre. Booking of hotel was trouble free and easy - did through booking.com- so could if wanted have used Tesco points. Booked double executive room- rooms were smart and bed was so comfortable. The bathroom was large and of a high standard seen in London hotels- spa bath was self cleaning and shower was easy to use. Ok downside is that first impressions of hotel reception area is one that is dated and worn- but can see the effort at mo is to upgrade the rooms. It is like a maze to find your room! So not for those with disability as steps up and down everywhere! The lift is tiny- we used it as easier to find room by lift! Lol ! But we did wander how a wheelchair could get in! Such Victorian seaside quaintness! Food was eaten in the tides restaurant- which is part of hotel but run by separate business- food served from 5 so good for pre theatre- well presented but am afraid to say a little over priced - basically looking at between £25 to 30 for two course meal. Had breakfast - runs to 9.30 - and basically will start packing away then so can’t be late! no table service all buffet including the tea - I think if more than 20 at breakfast could be quite crowded ( esp around the toaster!) and busy so I think might opt out of breakfast which is a £12 extra per person next time and laze more in bed! Staff were excellent and answered all my questions pre visit and parking is simple with £2.50 a day for parking permit- easy to obtain. Can’t fault such good Value for money hotel and can’t wait to stay again! …
