The Trinity Hotel is an easy walk from Westcliffe station. We chose to stay there as the hotel is very close to the Cliffs Pavilion Theatre. Alan and Jill were wonderful hosts and were extremely helpful at all times. Breakfast was all freshly prepared and cooked, and our room was spacious, well appointed and comfy.

Stayed Friday 3rd August, made booking about 6 weeks ago, my daughter checked couple days before and no booking?? But as no one there ok, checked in with my 13 year old granddaugher about 3pm, looked basic but ok! Went back after beach, shower room ok but old ,no bath mat, toilet seat moved when sat on! Anyway went out for meal, when we got back we were locked out! Myself ( I was on crutches after a fall) and my granddaugher were ringing bell, knocking and calling through letter box, no reply! Had to call my daughter who lived locally, and had owners mobile to ring him to open door! As you can imagine my granddaugher was very upset, we were very nervous all night, as it was very hot had windows open, cars driving down road all night! Was informed in morning hostel opposite, and

We are very sorry to hear that your stay was disappointing. We were very upset to hear that you had been locked out. It is not something we would wish to happen. This was very unfortunate. The outer door had been closed by a guest returning just prior to yourselves. We are very disappointed that your stay was unsatisfactory, and would like to attempt amends by offering you a similar stay on us.

My friend and I stayed for one night. The location of the B&B was great, only a 10 minute walk to Southend pier and 2 minute walk to the Pavilion. The owners are friendly and helpful and gave us a parking permit for the busy road outside. Our room was a good size but there are a few negatives - Very cheap uncomfortable mattress, no curtains at the window only a Venetian blind, no double glazing so very noisy, toilet seat loose and it didn't flush properly it was a moderator so also noisy, towel rail fell off one side, water in shower stopped half way through then started again, shower tray was filling up with water, grout black around the bottom, bathroom definitely needs attention. Breakfast was average, there were strawberries and melon cut up in a bowl but they were warm and

Thank you for the positive comments. We are sorry to hear that you found our mattress uncomfortable, it is actually a Sorrento Orthopaedic and previous guests have found this to their liking. We have blinds in all our rooms as we have a contemporary look of clean lines and no fussy curtains. Also, in a conservation area such as ours window replacements of the kind suggested are not allowed. As for the rest of the problems you encountered with the room, they could all have been resolved for you, had you mentioned them at the time, rather than waiting until you got home and published them. We aim to please our guests at all times and would appreciate being notified of any problems in the room Our top-level hygiene rating [5*] will indicate that our food preparation is of the highest standard. The Food Standards Agency tests include a probe thermometer that reads the temperature at the centre of the sausage. Our sausages are top quality and are cooked when requested. We don’t cook ahead of time. Our bread is uncut fresh local bakery produced. We are sorry that it was not toasted to the guests liking. The fresh fruit is cut each morning and prepared by us just prior to breakfast. We are sorry if in the short breakfast period you perceived that they had deteriorated. Again - all could have been resolved by a request at the time.

This is the second time we have stayed at The Trinity Hotel. Such a lovely couple who make you feel very welcome from the moment you walk in. The rooms are adequate for a stay for the theatre or a nice weekend. The breakfast is 10/10, lovely homemade granola, full English, my breakfast was poached egg, bacon, spinach on muffins, delicious!!! Lots of cereals, fresh fruit, toast and homemade marmalade.

We had a very pleasant stay: a friendly welcome, lovely clean rooms and an excellent breakfast. A friend travelling solo was pleased to be able to rent a single room at a lower rate than a double room.
