I travelled down from the North West to stay with my partner for four nights who is working in the town centre. Luckily I can work from anywhere, and we desperately wanted to stay somewhere with a bath and sea-view. We usually stay in independent or boutique style hotels but after searching for a while I just couldn’t seem to find anything that met our needs. When I saw how cheap a 4 night stay would be here (less that £200), and being pretty pleased with the photos and reviews I booked. I honestly can’t fault our stay, and I’m so happy with how much money we saved as it meant we could eat our every night without feeling too guilty about spending money. The only issue was noisy children running around in the room above us past 10pm, but the staff sorted this instantly. Also, due to covid they were a little short staffed so we had to go to reception to get more teabags/towels etc, but not really an issue when you prefer people staying out of your room when you’re out yourself. Definitely will be booking more stays at Premier Inn’s to save money on trips in the future!

The booking experience was ok, but when we arrived at the hotel it had been messed up. However Sammy on reception sorted it all out for me. We were staying for an event for my sister’s 50th Birthday and Sammy surprised her with a chilled bottle of Prosecco which was a nice touch. We were a group of 12 people all the rooms were nice and clean but we had one of the best rooms on the seafront (room 309). We did an advanced non refundable booking and all in the party were amazed at the great value. We added on the breakfast and that was really impressive too there was lots of choice and the food quality was good too. We will definitely be returning.

We stayed for 2 nights on the 29th and 30th December 2021. I was very impressed with the hotel and how clean it was. The room was immaculate and we had a sea view which was lovely. The windows do not open, and the air con can make for a dry nights sleep, but the bed was comfortable and clean, and the bathroom and room were cleaned thoroughly which was fantastic. We were on the 4th floor, and I didn't hear a sound from other rooms and it felt very private which was a huge bonus. The young chambermaid was very good and did a great job on our second day here. It is a stone's throw away from the beach so you can cross the road in the morning if you fancy coffee in front of the sea :-) Receptionists were helpful if not slightly stony faced, but no matter. I felt very relaxed and comfortable for my whole stay and didn't want to leave. I have never stayed in a Premier Inn before, but if they are all like this, then I would happily re book in the future. Bed felt like heaven after 5 hours of walking along the shore front that day. Everything seems to be very well managed at this hotel, and the Brewers Fayre downstairs was beneficial as they offer an all you can eat continental breakfast for 7.50GBP or continental and full English for 9.50GBP- the variety was fantastic... I certainly filled my boots and was most satisfied with the free refill hot and cold drinks. I would recommend to anyone who wants to visit Southend- the parking is 3.0GBP per day which is brilliant too. Enjoy :-)

Peaceful hotel with an amazing view out to the pier and estuary. Just be sure to email them to request the estuary side of the hotel. If arriving by C2C it's an easy walk from Southend East station. Although right next to the road there's no road sound inside and being a little walk from the centre it's far enough away not to be woken up by late night revellers. Would love to see plant-based coffee/tea whiteners in room so as to cater to a more inclusive audience.

Room was of quality you expect from Premier Inn but check in and especially checkout was not what you would call welcoming. Check in involved no eye contact from reception staff like they guests were an inconvenience and check out involved and unmanned desk whilst staff were"Havin a fag" outside and didn't even acknowledge our departure (suitcases in hand)
