Really friendly Staff Had Sunday lunch which was cooked beautifully with plenty of meat and vegetables which were cooked to perfection. Lovely river views . Landlord was very attentive to detail and made sure that everything was satisfactory. Would definitely visit again.

I went to the Crown about six years ago and vowed never to return, however it's been under new management for some time now and local feedback is generally good. We had a family meal and drinks and I found the bar staff to be friendly and helpful. The food was fine, especially the pie of the day, however the... More

Dropped in for a pint. Centrally located on the high street we found this pub clean, welcoming and serving a good beer. Standard selection of tap beers with reasonable selection of real ales. Whilst we didnt eat the meals looked a generous size and were a fair price for the size. Nice beer garden that overlooks the river out the... More

Stopping for a quick pint whilst walking the dog, the pub was not busy but there were several people eating and the food looked very good, as did the menu. Friendly staff, good atmosphere and although it's Greene King, the beer was alright too. Fantastic views across the Stour from the outside seating area. Definitely worth stopping by.

We had to wait for nearly one hour for our lunch with no apologies from the staff. My chicken had plainly been cooked and ready for ages - my husband had curry. What can take that long? The portions are very small for the not inconsiderable price. We will not go again!!

Best roast dinner I've had in ages - nearly as good as mine! ;-). Veggies cooked to perfection. Yorkshires crispy on outside. Lovely. I had the goats cheese and asparagus tart with mine (vegetarian). My partner had pork. Delicious! My 4 year old loved her own mini roast dinner. Perfect!

7 pieces of pasta cost me £10. It was swimming in oil and tasteless. I told the manager I was shocked by the size and he said it is what it is. Do you want some bread. I said not if I have to pay for it. He said that's a no then. Bad attitude and bad value for money.... More

Me and my girlfriend came here for Sunday lunch. Whilst the food was ok, nothing amazing, the whole occasion was ruined by the rude sarcastic member of staff who took our payment at the end. My girlfriend went to the bar to pay, the waiter asked her what table number we were. The tables have no table numbers... He said... More

Please ignore any poor reports for this establishment, they were most likely for the previous ownner. Now under new management, they provide probably the best Sunday lunch I've ever had in a pub. We popped in on the offchance and were found a table overlooking the river. Very helpful and attentive staff. We had roast chicken and roast pork. Both... More

Based upon one experience on Saturday 02 July 2016 - best beef burger I've had in my life. It was very tasty, clearly home made and just the right size. Along with it were some excellent home made chunky chips. Many of the tables have a view of the estuary and the staff were good. NB didn't stay in any... More
