This hotel used to be a regular stopping off point of mine, so it was nice to go back and see what an excellent job the owners have done on updating the premises. The hotel was clean with excellent facilities and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good and the bar has a good selection... More

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. Good car park - although it seems that some of the spaces had been taken by non-patrons and this was not being policed. Old historical building but well modernised. The room I stayed in was away form the bar area so unlikely to suffer from excess noise. Staff very friendly and helpful, the rooms had... More

Friendly & helpful staff. Bed was too small, shower pressure woefully low and the internet was intermittent at best. For £100 for a single room, these issues need to be resolved - the same price gets you a room at the Stansted Radisson which addresses all of these issues.

i'll start with the positives, great old building, off street parking, beautiful big rooms with charm and style. Now my personal experience did not live up to the potential of this hotel. On arrival, we weren't greeted, instead had to interrupt a small staff meeting going on. Rude receptionist, denied we had a booking, then that there were no family... More

My daughter was getting married at a near by venue, and we booked a number of rooms at the Saracens Head for the guests. The hotel itself is great. Lots of charm and atmosphere, in the centre of a beautiful historic market town. Although the hotel is a Grade II listed building, the bedrooms are roomy, well appointed and modern.... More

We stayed at this hotel after our daughter's wedding. The coachload of merry revellers rolled up at gone midnight yet we had no problem booking in - and those who had gone early to book in were made very welcome and comfortable. We had one of the suites which was large and well-appointed - and we loved the sumptuous bath... More
