The hotel is old but looks well maintained. We stayed in the hotel for our evening meal and have to say the food was really good and the lady behind the bar was lovely. It went down hill from there unfortunately. I couldn't put my finger on it but some of the guests behaved liked they'd never stayed in a...

Stayed here for 2 nights. Excellent location. Close to university, town centre and bus station. Room very spacious and clean. Tea making facilities available in room. Room did get cold but we turned heat up and it was fine. Breakfast was very expensive and really not worth it. Would stay here again. Chelmsford is a lovely town with friendly locals...

I visited this hotel on Valentine's Day and both my colleague and I were extremely impressed with the standard of service as well as the attention to detail that was being rolled out. Over the last 12 years I have frequented west end hotels on business and have become a big fan of a very famous fine steak house chain...

Lovely staff and really clean and we'll presented hotel. Where it is a dated building the floor boards creek making upstairs neighbours noisy. I suppose this can't be helped! Also if you choose to take your own means of entertainment such as a DVD player or games console, the TV will not allow access to using it! So don't bother!...

Lovely clean looking hotel. Had afternoon tea with two freinds. Good service and freindly staff. Food delicious but a few more sandwiches would of been nice .. Large car park. Will definitely visit again.

I travel a lot for work and room service is pretty standard. Never amazing, never awful. At the County they let you order the restaurant food to your room. And the food was INCREDIBLE. I was totally blown away. Best food I've ever eaten in room service. Hands down. The hotel itself is - quirky. It's definitely not modern. No...

Seventy five of us sat down for our annual four course Burns Night dinner. The meal itself could not have been better. Each course was excellent and I only heard praise from all those I talked to. The haggis was perhaps the best I have ever had, but it is not fair to select one course when it was all...

We booked afternoon tea with friends, wanting a memorable quintessential English afternoon tea which is exactly what we got. We had a lovely table in a quiet part of the hotel; service was attentive and courteous, responding quickly to requests for extra drinks. The two young children had a special selection of sandwiches and colouring packs to keep them occupied....
