We had such a lovely time this weekend that I wanted to thank all the staff for making my daughter’s birthday so special. This was a last minute booking for a family room which I booked directly with the hotel. The receptionist Tiziana was so helpful giving us lots of information over the phone and when she found out it was my daughter’s birthday she organised balloons and a card from the hotel for her when we got to our room. When we arrived on the beautiful grounds we were greeted by Sam at reception who instantly reserved the pool for us and gave us all the info we needed for our stay. We went to the heated pool (it was chilly) but lovely to be able to have a swim outdoors and take in the surroundings. We had booked dinner at 7pm and were shown to our table after having some drinks in the lounge. My son has allergies (which I notified the Tiziana about when booking) Our waitress Sue had all the information and had already marked all the things on the menu he could have. The chef even came out to speak to me which was so reassuring and something that I’ve only ever had in the US not the UK. We went back to our room before 10 because of Covid restrictions, the room was so cosy and clean that is was a pleasure to go back to. Also worth mentioning that we had a strange request for some batteries for my son’s toy and even though they didn’t have them in reception Sam managed to source some and give them to us at dinner. Breakfast was bought to the room and included oat milk which they had sourced especially for my son. And after another swim we asked for a late checkout which wasn’t a problem at all. In terms of value for money this hotel is excellent. We had been to Norfolk earlier in the half term and paid almost the same price for a room with no breakfast and no hospitality with mould growing in the shower and up the walls. I would highly recommend this hotel, its a four star but I have to say in terms of service this is definitely 5 star. We hope to return soon.

Lovely location, excellent facilities. The staff were warm, welcoming, helpful and accommodating throughout. Our room was modern and very warm and cosy with all the facilities you’d need for a stay. I’d definitely go back and stay and look forward to doing so. Thank you De Rougemont Manor.

Dear Nixster5522, Thank you for your recent review. I am so glad to hear that you enjoyed your recent stay with us! I am also happy to hear that you thought the room was modern and cosy, we have undergone some major refurbishments to the bedrooms in the last couple of years which definitely shows. I will pass on your lovely feedback to the team here, it is very much appreciated. We look forward to welcoming you back in the near future! Kind regards, Nancy Lebeau Front of House Manager

Had afternoon tea . Food was excellent, cakes etc fantastic. But complete lack of service. Wasn’t offered any top up of tea , never asked if we wanted anything more to drink. Totally ignored us for over 1 hour . My wife was going to order a bottle of champagne. Totally missed the opportunity to increase revenue! Waiter almost looked inconvenienced when I asked for the bill.

Terrible customer service- when are arrived we were made to feel uncomfortable. Most of the staff had an attitude problem (except Sam B the waiter- she was brilliant )! The housekeepers were lovely. Beds small! and the shower didn't work properly! Breakfast was ok- I was able to get a veggy option. Covid secure!

Very limited menu in restaurant. There were only about 6 main courses available. My wife chose sausage and mash as there was nothing else she wanted. I chose a steak . The mushrooms were hardly cooked and the tomato had probably spent half a minute in the frying pan. It was mostly cold. The steak itself was well cooked. The service was good with staff being friendly and helpful. The dining room was very pleasant.
