I WAS SERVED THE MOST DELICIOUS CAESAR SALAD KNOWN TO MAN! This was incredible. The food here is beautifully presented and absolutely Devine. I sat in the sunny pub garden with the dog and friends as we watched the sun set drinking great cider. An evening well spent, can't wait to return!

It is quite some while since we have dined out at the Bull and it has undergone new ownership since then I believe. Anyway, in we went for a bar lunch on Saturday and were pleasantly surprised at how it has maintained its charm and character. It is a really lovely old pub in a very pretty setting. The pub... We like this pub - especially if you have children, it's ideal - big field to kick a ball around, small playground. Idyllic setting. Food so-so but charming pub and efficient, friendly staff. Great on a summer's evening.

We often stop here for a mid-walk drink or lunch. It has plenty of outdoor seating and is in a gorgeous quiet spot. This pub is everything you want a 'local' pub to be and has managed to avoid the over-done interior and slightly pretentious vibe that sadly many of our other village pubs have adopted. In light of this... More

A great welcome on the four occasions I visited in one week whilst on holiday nearby. You really feel like you step back in time to a country pub complete with smiles, decent beer on tap and great pub grub! Enjoyed the roast and fish and chips. Children are welcomed with a playground and decent menu. Hope to return.

We stayed here as it was within walking distance of another pub where a friend was having their wedding reception. We were welcomed and shown to our room. The rooms are basic but we were only using it to sleep it so was fine for our needs. The pub itself is really nice, lots of historical features. Lovely quiet location.... More

This is a genuine, 'Olde English Pub'. I don't know how old it is but it feels like it has been here centuries. There is a huge fireplace filled with lots, surrounded by locals. Bags of atmosphere. The food was pretty good, not fab, but good grub.

Not one but two blazing fires, beams, dogs, great beer - a pub that still manages to retain its traditional pub feel, while having a restaurant and serving food. And the food was good - couldn't fault the burgers (and for this my companion was prepared to over look the fact they were served on slates - what wrong with... More

We had excellent food, great ale, the pub was very clean and tidy and the staff were really friendly and attentive. We will be definitely returning. This is the best pub we've been to in a long time and all set in beautiful surroundings. Thank-You from Caroline and Steve

My friend recommended The Bull to me. Another friend and i went today and Had what they call The Old Codgers menu. We had starter and main meal Which was very well cooked and presented. The two young girls who served Us food and drink were delightful. Stopping to tell us what others were ordering When we asked even though... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Bull Inn was built between 1385 and 1425 and is reputed to be one of the oldest dwelling places in the country, but only became a pub towards the end of the 19th century. Set in 4 acres of rolling Sussex countryside, and within easy walking distance of beautiful Bewl Water, the Bull is very popular with walkers, cyclists and fishermen. A magnificent ancient building in a secluded location, the Inn has a wealth of old beams, low ceilings and quarry tiled floors that give it a real air of the traditional English Country pub. ... more   less
