This small family run hotel is a template for exactly what guests require in the hospitality sector. Without exception, the staff are polite, friendly and efficient. The quality of the food is excellent and a specific dietary requirement was met without difficulty. Our room was clean and comfortable. The reason for our visit to the area was a stressful one...

I hadn't visited this hotel for a meal in about five years. We used to be regulars when my mother was alive and visited for an early Christmas lunch. Staff and management we're welcoming and attentive, with nothing too much trouble. The lunch was hot, tasty and excellent in every respect. Thanks to all concerned.

My parents-in-law booked us a three night break with them and our children (14 & 12) this summer with one of the main attractions being the outdoor pool. We were lucky to have fantastic weather and the pool was `the best its ever been' according to the staff. They were one of the main features of the place as they...

Booked the Brickwall for my husband's birthday meal and couldn't have been happier. I'm a vegan and therefore called ahead to enquire if they could cater for me. The staff were so helpful and I was offered several options and ended up with my first three course vegan meal! Food was amazing and plentiful, staff were super friendly and helpful...

The original building is very beautiful and not spoiled by its transformation into a hotel. It has many original Tudor features and is welcoming. We stayed in Room 6 which was delightful. It had a large bed and bedroom and a separate sitting area. The room not only looked out onto the green but was bathed in sunshine in the...

Stayed here for six nights. The hotel is very nice the room I had was in the old part of the hotel which was full of character. The food is exceptional but very rich I couldn't eat here every night as it was to rich for me. Breakfast is ok with a good selection. My only slight gripe is that...

We recently had a works dinner at the restaurant. The food was excellent the staff obliging however it took 20 minutes after asking se eral times to get our first drinks order. Then it seemed like groundhog day as we repeatedly had to ask for someone to take a drinks order it seemed like only one person was taking the...

Saturday lunch at The Brickwall Hotel, a Tudor mansion in the heart of 1066 country in the pretty village of Sedlescombe seemed promising. It is recommended by Britain's AA with three stars and by the Michelin Guide and with its stunning Tudor features, outdoor pool, 25 en-suite rooms, and extensive dining facilities as well as a pretty garden restaurant, you'd...
