We stayed here overnight due to heavy rain on a camping trip. It was lovely, great room, great food - all round a lovely little pub. The breakfast was particularly nice. Burwash was lovely too with a nice graveyard that was wonderful for zombie hunting with two crazy children!!!

Nice pub, with a good selection of Harvey's beers and a good pub grub menu. The food was very good and the bar man couldn't have more helpful.....all done with a bit of banter and humour. We had an excellent lunch.

Just the 2 of us So decided to pop out for quick impromptu dinner. Menu was typical pub stuff but large and varied enough to give good choice. We went for scampi and chips and a ribeye steak. Scampi and chips were fine and my Hubbie said his steak was the tastiest he had in a while. All in all... More

Had lunch here on Friday with two friends who were on a walk from Punnetts Town to Burwash and back. We decided to meet at Burwash for lunch and picked the Rose and Crown. Good decision! We had a lovely lunch in beautiful surroundings. The staff were helpful, friendly and very welcoming. I'll definitely being trying it again.

A beautiful old pub/restaurant. The service was excellent and the food matched. Very friendly. If you are tall mind your head the beams are incredibly low which adds to the atmosphere. I would highly recommend this place if you are visiting or just passing through this pretty little village.

Four of us dined here on Friday evening. From the outside, the pub is beautiful with well kept hanging baskets and a great patio area. However, two of the starters were unavailable and my wife's mozzarella starter was very modest in size. My beefburger was only just cooked (as was the accompanying bacon) and the two bottles of Shiraz we... More

Staying in Burwash recently, we had drinks at the Rose and Crown most evenings, coffee one morning, and took cousins to lunch there. The staff were unfailingly friendly, polite, and very efficient; the locals, too, were friendly and cheerful. The beer was perfectly kept and served (Harveys, the Lewes brewery), the wine list good. Our coffees were excellent, and the... More

Interesting menu. Had hake in banana leaves which was fab! Husband went for local ham eggs and chips- huge and plates licked clean! Very beautiful pub and fantastic flowers outside. Great friendly service and warm welcome on an unseasonably cold summer day.

Poor quality of food, everytime you ordered we were told that it had run out I.e. No chicken and it was only 1.30. Then said we would have fish & chips and mushy peas. No mushy peas , had run out. Open a tin for goodness sake!!!! Then ordered scampi and was told they had run out of tartare sauce-WHAT!,... More

My husband, myself & two friends met up to spend a pleasant evening in the Rose & Crown. We were told it had been taken over just 4 weeks previously & it showed. The menu was very limited although there were the usual pub classics. Both couples shared a seafood platter each followed by my friend & me having the... More
