Visited on recommendation with a view to booking a stay. The location is both picturesque and attractive with Wisteria in full bloom around the Hotel at time of our visit. Only stopped for lunch as we had already booked a two night stay in June and this was an 'exploration visit'. Staff were very courteous and helpful. Hotel is 'dog...

A spur of the moment decision by my wife and me to head off for the weekend. Sussex was the destination and hotels care of Booking dot com. The Powder mills hotel featured so went to the web site of the hotel and attempted to book. The web site was poor and I reluctantly persisted by telephoning the hotel to...

We stayed at Powdermills for a special family celebration. The location, scenery and rooms are excellent. We were lucky enough to have a room overlooking the Lake (well worth the extra money) - amazingly peaceful and tranquil. I would recommend exploring the countryside around the hotel, there are a variety of paths which you can take and get lost in...

In a World where stars are determined by Spas and hairdressers this gem of a residence has been lost in what is considered by the majority as to what is on trend. However, if you like a place with old school values, a place that feels like you are putting on a pair of well broken in shoes, a place...

My first visit here, it won't be the last. The hotel setting is superb, the interior is 'Country House' rather than bland corporate fare, and considering there were about 10 of us in our own meeting room, the breakfast was excellent. Worth a visit!

We received a warm welcome on arrival and were shown to our room instead of just being handed a key, which was a nice touch. The room itself is well decorated with pretty curtains and it had a nice view over one of the lakes. However it was much too hot and the heating control on the wall was broken....

We visited this picturesque hotel on a two-night travelzoo deal (first night with dinner) and at first sight we were impressed. Staff were friendly and helpful, it had some fascinating communal lounges, and our deluxe room was spacious. But on closer inspection, the uncomfortable bed and long-term stains in our room aside, we felt the place needed a thorough sprucing....

We stayed here as part of a group of Derby Bentley owners. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found the room which overlooked a lake at the back of the hotel comfortable and well-appointed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed walking in the grounds and taking the footpath to Battle where there is plenty to see. If...
