Christine and Martin, first of all, were the two most friendly people I've ever met in Britain - and trust me, I've met quite a handful. I was pretty young when we visited, but what I remember most vividly is how I one day came back to my room and found my bed made, and my stuffed dog chilling in...

The welcome is warm, the bedrooms superb and the breakfasts substantial. The whole experience cannot fail to impress. Take the little collection of lotions and potions provided in the bathrooms; to cure every conceivable cough, cold, sore holes and pimples in peculiar places. We know of very few other B&B's who come even close to the standard offered here.

We booked here based on the TA reviews and found the B & B and the hosts everything that has been written here and more. The room was large and comfortable with a view of the stunning garden and the countryside beyond; the bed was generous and provided a good night's rest. The hosts were more than generous in their...

The room was very spacious, comfortable with a large bathroom too! Slept like a log, which is unusual for me when staying away from home. It was extremely clean & tidy, with little details that made my family grateful to be there. In the breakfast room, Christine & Martin made you feel like you were guests in their home, which...

We recently visited this wonderful B&B with our 1.5 year old daughter. Cannot recommend highly enough. Things we appreciated the most: - Fantastic breakfast - absolutely delicious cooked breakfast, lots of choice (lots and lots of tea choices, toast spread choices etc etc), and nothing was too much trouble...even with a demanding baby to cater for - Incredible collection of...

Sad personal circumstanes for our visit. However, Christine and Martin made us very welcome from booking our stay to checking in and checking out. Rooms spotless and very well equipped, everything you expect from a B&B and so much more!!! Bathroom spot on, shower spot on. Wee fridge with water, juice and milk was most welcoming after a long journey....

This B&B was clean and tidy with very hospitable and easy going hosts. We arrived very early and Martin could not have been more accommodating. Our room was immaculate had everything one could ask for. Breakfast was very nice and there was plenty of it too. My auntie recommended it and she is rarely wrong. If we come back to...

Christine and Martin are great and everything was superb. The best breakfasts in the world! The setting is very pleasant with a beautiful garden. It's also conveniently located near the centre of Battle. I will definitely return.

Everything was sublime, we had a wonderful time. Chris and Martin were exceptional hosts and catered for all our needs. Breakfast superb and excellently presented but more importantly taste delicious. Not to forget Bertie the dog as if we ever could, he was so well behaved and very friendly. So would we stay again? Most definitely!

After a nightmare journey which nearly made us turn back and go home the traffic miraculously cleared and we made it safely to Battle in East Sussex andTollgate Farmhouse. Christine and Martin were extremely welcoming and friendly hosts. The rooms were spotless (beautifully crisp and ironed sheets) and anything you could possibly want provided. The breakfast was amazing and perfectly...
