Something of a Suffolk food institution, The Crown has always offered outstanding quality food and wine in a wonderfully informal setting. The wine list boasts a tantalising range of wines by the glass, one doesn’t have to have a bottle. It also showcases a range of well kept and award-winning Adnams beers and spirits. Our 14 bedrooms are all stylish and full of character, offering a high standard of accommodation and a comfortable, memorable stay in Southwold.

We booked this restaurant in advance as there were 14 of us. There is a car park on site but plenty of parking spaces available close by if required. We had a whole room to ourselves and our drink order was taken promptly. Most of us went for the Roast Beef menu but there were various other choices. Everyone was very pleased with their food. The children chose from the children's menu. This had a few choices and were large children's meals. Very good value for money, very relaxed, very good service. Strongly recommend.

Booked as a surprise for my husband's birthday in addition to the distillery tour. Had a great time at the hotel and on the tour. I also booked dinner in the restaurant. The staff were very friendly, but were understaffed as it was quite slow.

Clean, friendly, great service. Excellent food in the restaurant (breakfast also great). Nice location in the high street, with easy access to the beach/seafront and all local walks. Nice cosy bar area. Recommend.

I treated my wife to a 2 night stay at the crown for her birthday. It was the perfect 3 days. The meals at the crown were absouletly amazing. Brandon (our evening waiter) was amazingly friendly, fun and helpful and Mary was lovely at Breakfast too. All in all, it was the perfect 2 night stay and we really didn't want to leave. We will be back just as soon as we can. Take care all. Sam and Stu

Three Gentlemen took off to the coast for an overnight stay in the Crown. As expected the service was superb. We had booked three cosy rooms as we were only in for one night. We had a few beers in the back bar and after another few in the Sole Bay and Lord Nelson we returned to dine in the Crown. Food was excellent as well as the service. My only comment to make is room 7 is a small room which I was made aware when I booked however, it seems to be located in a corridor and at the top of a fire escape. I was woken just after 6am with staff and guests moving around. It did not dampen my experience but if you are a light sleeper then try to avoid this room. We went to breakfast which was superb and the chefs special black pudding was divine. Normally I have stayed at the Swan however, the new look does not appeal to my taste and as this was my first try at the Crown I would certainly come back.
