really wary of mass catering - but needn't have worried this time. Really gorgeous starter of caramelised onion and goats cheese tart with a really yummy tomato pesto. Roast sirloin of beef with all the trimmings - not the crispiest of roasties - but ok. would have liked more gravy. dessert was cheese and biscuits - needed more biscuits -...

To date this has been one of our favourite venues for lunch in the area. Sadly no more!! Four of us met for lunch and found menu completely different. Set meal, once fabulous, was awful. Badly cooked, badly presented. Very small choice. Before it was difficult to choose what to order. Starter, potato and leek terrine inedible. Main, half a...

Generally a good stay, everything was clean if a bit dated. The lady on Reception was very helpful printing us a map of Felixstowe as we needed to find a specific place. The room and bathroom were a good size. A couple of negatives, there was some sort of function on and the music extremely loud, although to be fair...

Been many times before and love this hotel but sadly a recent afternoon tea left us a little disappointed. It was obvious that it had been prepared well in advance because the sandwiches were beginning to harden and the cakes were stale. Everything was dry and quite frankly difficult to eat. We had informed the reception in advance that one...

Popped in for a valentines cocktail. No queue at the bar but left after waiting in vain for 20 minutes for our drinks. Barman seemed oblivious. The opulence is long gone but a little atmosphere remains.

We have been staying here since 1994 on breaks- still the same place with old style class. Booked into the Bawdsey suite on a special deal at £56 per night for a double with cooked breakfast- and Saturday at £76. The whole Hotel is being refurbished gradually and there are areas that need attention- but that wont put anyone off...

Lovely elegant hotel, lovely ambience. Miserable receptionist on arrival - not nice at all ... completely different to night receptionist, friendly polite and helpful. Don't bother paying for luxury double, very basic apart from walk in shower. And view from window a brick wall with dirty windows, curtains need to be drawn 24hrs.

Stayed here for four days. Clean rooms, fresh towels and sheets, The only fault was the speed in which breakfast was delivered. My colleague ordered her breakfast at 7.30 BUT because they had a breakfast club in, she was not told there would be a delay with her breakfast. By 8.00 she was due in at work and had to...
