Whilst this hotel is a little dated, it is clean and the staff cannot do enough for you. With it being at the end of the main street it is ideal especially for the elderly, no hills to climb unless you want to go down to the seafront, There are lifts to all floors, the breakfast will set you up... Stayed for wedding and the staff were very helpful and friendly. A great location and a great hotel. Food and service were excellent throughout the stay. The rooms and hotel were clean, well kept and nothing was too much troubvle. A thoroughly enjoyable stay and a place I would definately go back to.

We visited with 20 members of our car club for a Sunday luch meeting. Our party was given our own dinning room which was beautiful as were all the other rooms we saw - quality ans style from the Victorian era. The service was very polite and professional and the food outstandingly good. We have never been to Felixtow before... More

facilities nice and clean, quiet pleasant surroundings made welcome on arrival by reception check-in was easy, breakfast was very poor and rushed which I was not happy with you got the feeling that the waitress's just want you to leave as soon as you could so they could stand around talking between themselves...

Very friendly staff & waiting staff. Fantastic silver service given. The old building of the hotel offers a lot of history and is quite lovely to look at. Great location - opposite rail station, but very quiet. Lovely.

We have been coming to this hotel for years and went back this weekend. We have always been amazed by the service and overlooked the slightly dated decor and tiredness. However it is now very apparent that no investment is going into the upkeep of this very tired old lady. The staff are still providing an excellent service and the... More

I stayed here with friends over the Felixstowe Book Festival weekend (25th/26th June 2016), and it was lovely. The room was comfortable and not expensive in the slightest. The breakfast was included in the price of the room, and that was outstanding. It was an all you can eat buffet, with items for a full English breakfast (bacon, sausages, mushrooms,... More

Tiny rooms, bare bones. Feels very run down; iron heat stains on carpet, among other things. Room is very stuffy and warm, window doesn't crank open very far and the fans they can provide barely move the air. Television reception was spotty because, the manager told me, of the humidity. One electrical outlet per room. Furniture looks like it came... More

We have been having breaks at the Orwell since the seventies and seen a lot of changes over the years. After a three year break we decided to re visit. The rooms have been refurbished and the one that we had was excellent. The staff were very helpful and the meals we had in the resturant and buttery bar were... More

Lunch on Monday was very quiet as we were the only ones in a small room but saying that it was very enjoyable. Service was obviously very good but equally so was the food. The menu had a very good choice and we enjoyed everything we ate especially the chocolate brownie with pistachio ice cream. Value for money was excellent... More
