I think the main problem was they had insufficent staff!! Staff were bobbing back and fro between reception and the bar. The position was lovely though.

is there many stairs to bedrooms
Sadly there are no lifts but staff offered to carry luggage to our room which was on the first floor. From memory, there were two flights of stairs
