Had not been to the County for several years, not since it changed hands however the standard has not dropped. In making a reservation I noted my wife is lactose intolerant and has a yeast allergy. We were welcomed warmly and seated promptly with my wife brought her own menu. Service was attentive and appropriate and the food was of... More

What a lovely place. We booked in for an overnight stay on the way up to Scotland. Managed to make it in time for dinner - thank goodness it was delicious, beautifully cooked and presented. So nice and the staff were really friendly. The room absolutely spotless, modern (even a walk in dressing room) and very spacious. Would definitely recommend... More

We visited The County on Saturday evening and whilst the restaurant was busy we still had friendly and efficient service. Our meals were delicious and good value for money. For readers of a certain age.......if you combine a scoop of Turkish Delight ice cream with one of Chocolate it's reminiscent of eating a Fry's Turkish Delight bar! (Yummy!). The dessert... More

Calling in for Sunday lunch. Bottle of water put on the table without asking. Most places you have to request it. Choice on the menu was not extensive but more than enough. I always think that when you don't have too many choices at least you know you have more chances of it been freshly cooked, and not took from... More

Took my son and friend for a meal tonight. The food was amazing as always and I had the best dessert I have eaten anywhere. Lemon Curd Millefiori, just amazing layers of flavours an textures. The service was excellent , atmosphere just perfect, they never fail to impress. We love this gem of a dining experience.

If your a fussy eater then I would look else where. In my opinion a very limited menu. I ordered the battered cod and chips, which was £14.00 and the chips came in a small metal basket (10 chips at best). That is expensive. This is not a place I would visit again.

Went here for an early evening Saturday meal, so very quiet. Contemporary decor but in keeping with a country village pub; very comfortable and not pretentious. Service was prompt, friendly but professional too. Food arrived in a reasonable time. Presented very nicely on the plate, not huge amounts if you are a big eater and like a piled up plate,... More

Came here for Sunday lunch with the family. Food and service was excellent. Portion sizes good and reasonable prices. Martin was looking after us but all team good including Jamie. Don't forget to have the desserts they were spectacular. Certainly worth a detour if not quite on your route

My wife and I visited this restaurant on the recommendation of friends and it lived up to their description. It is in a lovely location adjacent to the A1M. The menu was interesting and varied; the service was good and the food beautifully presented. The only downside was that the dessert menu was heavily weighted towards ice cream dishes although... We had dinner at The a County recently and were very impressed with the quality of the food, it was delicious and the presentation was excellent. It was difficult to make our choice from the menu as everything sounded lovely; we shall be visiting again soon to try something different. A little more expensive than some places but worth it...
