Anthea hotel is by far the best in many respects.
Cleanliness is beyond comparison. Service is excellent. Breakfast includes high quality local products.
We highly recommend it and we are certain to choose it for our stay in Tinos every year from now on!
PS: Restaurant serves the best coffee ever!
The building fits the Cyclades environment.
All this unfortunately turned out to be nothing but wishful thinking on the part of the very sweet but completely uninvolved father who had spent a lot f money in an admittedly beautiful complex which his two offspring apparently 'manage'!
on the first morning when we asked for our coffees t be served on a patio literally 20 feet away from the 'proper; coffee area we were asked in what can only be described as a rude manner to 'carry our own cups as there was no spare waitress!!
The breakfast offered was meagre and some of the pieces of cheese had seen better days.
The ''fresh'' salad offered on the second day was so limp and sad on the plate that my son compained to be told this is due to the balsamic and that the chef buys fresh salad ready cut every two days so this must have been only a 2-day old precut salad and how ''dare he dispute them?''
There were many more things during the10-day stay but the chery on top of the 'cake' was when on checking out my son was asked to pay 200 euro for a mosquito net which was destroyed by his children four (4) days previously for which there was never any mention or complain ! When tod that as far as my son and his wife were concerned, this never happened he was threatened with legal action AND arrest and assured that he would be prevented from leaving the island!
I called and spoke with a very angry hotel owner's daughter who demanded payment for a most valuable antique which my grandchildren had torn to pieces!
When she realised that I live on the island and I am well-aware of the laws governing tourism and hotel behaviour towards tourists AND when I said that the net in question was in fact not an antique but one bought locally AND that I happen to own an identical one which was bought for less than 30 euro, 'all was deemed to be one of those things'' and we'd best forget about it, after all 'children will be children''!
I hope my long review does not bore the readers but I feel this standard of service MUST be reported and others warned!

To start from the beginning we arrived with the morning ferry around 11am and after a brief welcome - check in we were told that our rooms would be available in a couple of hours, which makes sense since customers check out around 12pm and the hotel needed an hour to prepare them.
We stayed by the pool (which by the way is pretty) awaiting for our rooms... around 3pm two of the couples received their keys with couple nr3 (+2 toddlers) still waiting. At 4pm with no room in sight they left for the beach in order to wait there as the kids were getting restless. Finally at 6pm they came back and the room was ready!
Next couple of days were spent uneventfull. The Hotel is nice with typical Greek island architecture and the breakfast is more than decent with a variety of food.
On the third day one of the couples, while being on the beach, received a phone call from the hotel manager that they were supposed to swap rooms as their room was needed for another family with older children! At our friends astonishment and protest the manager insisted we were told while checking in (not true as 6 adults were present) then changed his story that we were told when booking (not true as we had all the emails from the reservation).
Our friend rushed to the hotel where he protested the move again to be told that the other party had booked earlier than us!! (still not true as we had booked in March!!). Finally he admitted he was wrong and tried to apologize offering a discount which we never received. Guys if you want to play Hotel managers be at least professional.
