Lovely holiday. Visited with friends and had several different rooms between us. Nikos can’t do enough to make your stay enjoyable and relaxing.

The location is perfect….just a short walk to old town where there are numerous tavernas and bars. All thoroughly welcoming with great food and atmosphere.

We will be booking to visit again. Would recommend.

My husband and I stayed for 7 nights, wanted a total relax, which we got! Set in gardens, nice pool and the most spotlessly clean apartment ever stayed in Greece, cleaned daily. Good aircon included in price, 5 min fairly flat stroll to nearest pretty village square with a few good restaurants, bars and shops. Very lovely time with friendly people, would return.

I stayed there last year and I thought that the place was awesome!!!! The location is very good, I like it that it is in the Old Hersonissos Village and not in the Port because the village is soo beautiful. In addition, it is very close to the city of Herakleion and to the Lassithi Plateau (do not neglect to visit all the small villages there!), and to the beach, of course!
The staff is very friendly, which is very important, I hate it when the staff is rude, it makes me feel not welcomed. However, Nikos and Athina were very hospitable and what I call "true professionals" . The prices are fair (much cheaper than most of the other places I have stayed in Hersonissos) and the rooms are of very good quality and with air-condition (this is great for those hot nights which are common in Greece). Also, I found that the food and drinks sold at the bar were of very good quality (in another hotel in Hersonissos the ham they served us with our toasts had gone bad!).
I have already booked a room to go again this summer and I definitely recommend it!! :-D

horrible terrible location!!!! the property is several MILES several KILOMETERS away from the beach and tourist area of hersonissos. .everything one comes to hersonissos for requires spending extra money for a SEVEN EURO TAXI RIDE EACH WAY!!! AND THERE ARE NO, REPEAT NO BUSES TO THE ACTUAL RESORT OF HERSONISSOS. get ready to spend a fortune in taxis. it is way up in the hills away from virtually anything of interest that people come to hersonissos to enjoy. it is however very near so called "old hersonissos city". which is nothing more than a few cafes and a small church in an isolated area literally miles away from the true resort of hersonissos. when booking on the web site if one selects "city center" as the location one wants to be near up comes this medusa villa as SUPPOSEDLY VERY NEAR the "city center". that is EXTREMELY misleading indeed disingenuous since it is miles away from everything of any interest except some tiny little square called old hersonissos. the owner was asked by both the local tourist office in malia and my hotel owner in malia AND BOOKING.COM (THEY TELEPHONED HIM) to pick me up when my city bus arrived at the REAL hersonissos (NOT HIS ISOLATED LITTLE VILLAGE) . he refused ALL THREE REQUESTS and did so in a rough, snarly and unfriendly manner. all he would say is "take a taxi". the heart of the problem with this place is that it is listed as VERY NEAR the "city center". nothing could be further from the truth! i have read these reviews.......they seem to LOVE being isolated way up miles away from everything....and PAYING SEVEN EUROS EACH WAY FOR A TAXI INTO TOWN AND BACK SINCE THERE ARE NO REPEAT NO BUSES TO TOWN.......they loved it......i did not...do you think you will love being isolated? p.s. the place itself is very well maintained.and the room and grounds are fine.......but why would someone travel a thousand miles to be stuck up in the country FAR AWAY FROM HERSONISSO? they could have stayed at home and gotten the same result!

Excellent location as it is 5-10 mins walk from the village centre with romantic restaurants, shops and giftshops.
Hotel grounds are very nice with fruit trees and flowers. When you enter via the main gates, to the left is the clean pool and bar area and after short walk you arrive to the reception and rooms.
We arrived late, almost midnight, due to delayed flights. I sent emails to the owner to inform him about our possible arrivals. He would always reply fast and assuring us, that he will wait for us.
When we arrived, he was waiting at us at the reception and processed the paperwork fast, gave us basic information and showed us to our room. Efcharisto!
The room is not large but enough for 2 people. It had kitchen area with complimentary coffee and water, utensils and plates. Bathroom was clean and nice, room had 2 beds and furniture. We liked it as it was clean, no smells whatsoever. Room service cleaned every day.
It was a very relaxing and quiet place, away from the main road and anything noisy. Everybody was polite and nice.
Parking was just outside the main gates on the little street in front of the villa.
We liked the room and the little romantic village centre.

Lovely surroundings very peaceful away from the main town but plenty of tavernas with in walking distance no more than 10 minute walk.
Nikos is very helpful nothing is to much bother if you have a problem.
Would recommend hiring some transporter if you like to explore crete in all its glory.

Just returned from a 14 night stay here with my wife (July 2019). The room was a self catering studio with a complementary pod coffee maker which went down a treat. Nice balcony to sit outside whenever you like with facilities to dry your washing as needed. There is a pool but we did not use it as it was a quiet part of the season and the bar was never opened - we probably would have done otherwise. The room was cleaned and the bed was made to a high standard everyday that we were there. There is also an air conditioner in the room which was fantastic. The room had a TV but we never used it. Nikos, said hello every day and made sure we were always happy. Just 5 minutes walk away you have the village of Old Hersonissos with plenty of places to eat and drink and there's a greek night of entertainment in the square every Monday evening - don't forget to book a table at one of the excellent tavernas. Also perhaps bring a water pistol to clear out all the irritating onlookers who stand in the way of all else to video the greek dancers ;). You're also within easy reach to the port of Hersonnissos which is the main resort (about 30 minutes walk downhill - we were never intrepid enough to walk back - 7 Euros in a taxi) and other lovely local villages such as Piskopiano and Koutoulousari (sp?) where you will find some gems like the local museum of Rural Life. If you hire a car/quadbike/scooter you can also visit the wider area of Crete nearby easily, such as Knossos, Heralklion, Elounda, Agios Nikolaos, Spinalonga etc.

We had a wonderful holiday here and that was not least down to the warm hospitality of Nikos and his team of friendly staff. Highly recommended!

We booked a studio here for 18 nights. We were not disappointed. Spacious, clean and comfortable. The bathroom and shower were immaculate. Beds had very comfortable mattresses and pillows. Sheets were changed every 3 days and towels changed every two days but if you need them changed sooner just ask. The windows have net screens which prevent insects coming in, as a result we slept with the window wide open. Fresh air in the room at night made it very comfortable. The kitchen area has everything you need for a self catering holiday. Nikos (the owner) is very kind, friendly and helpful. The pool area is lovely, well maintained and very clean. We had the pool to ourselves quite often. It's only a few minutes walk to Old Hersonossis and a good base to explore other parts of the island. Nikos helped us with organising transfers to and from the airport and ferry port. I would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone. If you are looking for peace and tranquillity with many amenities available close by then this is the place for you. Local restaurants worth a visit Sofas, Zachos, Myrtios and Harakas all very good. It's Greek night in the village on a Monday night I would advise reserving a table it gets exceptionally busy. We will definitely be back.

The pool bar wasn't open for the two weeks we stayed even though this is advertised online and we visited during peak season. The pool was not cleaned at all. Any time we wanted to swim we had to clean several bugs etc from the pool.
Beds are like planks of wood so don't expect a good nights sleep.
Bathroom and rooms were not as pictured on hotels.com.
We couldn't sit outside at night as the hotel owner complained that our outside light was on and keeping others awake ( they were sleeping with the door open).
As mentioned in other reviews - the distances are not correct and the hotel is in the middle of nowhere.
Hotel owner rarely available as he had several 'appointments' and therefore poor reception facilities.
The pool would appear to be a free for all for locals and non guests.
Even though the pictures show very modern rooms with nice modern showers etc, we were put in a room that was very dated.
For a self catering property the facilities are very limited and there was no table to eat dinner unless we had eaten from the dressing table.
Overall the hotel experience wasn't fantastic and the hotel owner seems very approachable for certain guests and not others.

This was the best holiday me and my boyfriend could have ever wished for. Was quiet and relaxing and the location was fab! Just round the corner from old hersonissos square where theres loads of restaurants, bakerys and basically anything you would need! The people at Villa Medusa were lovely and let us leave our bags with them all day whilst we waited for our flight. The food in the nearby square was INSANE and i recommend eating at any of those restaurants! The walk to the beach was just under an hour but the walk was so scenic and peaceful it was worth it and we ended up getting taxis back most days as it was cheap enough to.

It was the best holiday ever and whenever we are looking to book another one this is how good we want it to be!!!! Perfect week.

Dear Gemma hi, thank you for your mail. Our place unfortunatly is not handicap friendly. But if they are not any serious problem, we could give you an apt in the ground floor level. No steps inside..... Only 2-3 steps to go to the pool area. In 300m you have the central square of Hersonissos village and you could find everything there, market, restaurant pharmacy, cafe ect. The port of Hersonissos is in 3 Km from us, more or less the same distance with the beach. We have taxi that we work with, they charge about 7-10 euros. if you stay some days, could be intresting to rent a car. The prices is very logical for the area, depand of the period that you will come.... Tell me the days and I could tell you exact price. For arrive from the Airport to Villa Medusa we could arrange a taxi to wait for you for 35 euros I still in your disposal for any info or help you need. Best Regards Elina
