We booked a twin room, what we actually got was two single beds side by side supported by building blocks! We decided to move one of them and put the frame on floor. You have to use the next-door hotels restaurant and the food is mediocre, there is a good selection of dishes but none of them are labelled so some times you are not sure what you are getting. The other hotel only does All Inclusive, this one Half Board so if you a drink with your evening meal you have to pay for it even tea or coffee. You can't even get a glass of water because they cover up the water dispenser.
Well where do we start! We arrived at the hotel at 3 am to be greeted with locked doors and a sign saying go to sister hotel to check in but with no directions (It is literally 3 doors down with a side road inbetween but as this was our 1st time we did not know that). Managed to find sister hotel and got checked in... went across the road and the nightmare began! Our room was on the 2nd floor - but lift is in Greek (fair enough we were in Greece!) but no numbers on it either - it was a case of push a button and hope for the best! Got to our room - the lock was a joke - didn't really need a key to get in! Once in wow talk about disgusting! We were told the place had been closed for a year due to covid - it looks like they opened it and didn't bother cleaning it beforehand. I have put pictures up showing just how dirty it was - there was pubic hair on the bed... Bathroom looks like it was never cleaned and we were given a lovely present of human hair sitting in a clump on the shower shelf! There was a massive hole in the shower wall, no cover on the drain with a 2/3 inch opening and 4 inch drop. Patio led onto the front of main street - normally not a problem, however when only single glazed there was no point closing the door as it sounded like everyone outside was in our room. Given the late hr we threw ourselves on top on the beds with the concrete bases and tried to sleep (impossible!) We honestly felt like we were in a prison cell!! Set alarm for 07.30 and went and got moved to sister hotel (we had to pay), TBH it wouldn't cost much to bring this hotel upto spec - replace/update bathrooms and clean the place!!…
Clean, nice staff, everybody is so nice with customers, exellent food, cook is in restoran and making fresh food , also customers are so nice, no hurry, no rush , restoran room is great , my best holidays in Crete
We stayed at the Iro hotel in early June. My feelings about this hotel are mixed. + The staff at the front desk is helpful and so is staff in the dinning room at Sergio Hotel (food for guests of Iro hotel is served at Sergio Hotel). Rooms are clean. - You are required to pay extra for fridge, AC, etc. Management of Sergio Hotel is not flexible. When my son got sick, I was not allowed to bring food from Sergio Hotel to my room (we had breakfast and dinner included in our package). The hotel and the pool is of a serious need of upgrade.
Very clean Rooms. Staff are wery helpfull and welcoming a specially Maria. Food is excellent. Very nice place to stay. Friendly price and very good conditions. Everythings you need ir very close, beach, restaurants, if you need public transport too. and of coures - lots of suvenirs.
They clean rooms every day, everyone are so nice and helpful, food is excellent. It is nice place to stay. Everything you need is close: bakery, stores, souvenirs, bus stop, beach, museum, restaurants...
Excellent! From booking to checkin, staying for a week to checkout just excellent. Staff were friendly welcoming professional knowledgeable always willing to help, every member of staff and I can’t fault this property was just simplistic good value for money excellent service and location, clean comfortable, more than adequate good facilities gorgeous breakfast served in the next door hotel staff there also excellent as mentioned above is conveniently accessible via a very short doorway. The grounds offer a good sized swimming pool with sun terrace and sun beds, indoor outdoor bars pool table. A great base allowing you to explore the delights of Crete a bus stop just a stones throw from hotel front door and also bars and rests and of course the beach approx 100metres across the street. Can’t wait to return perfect holiday base. Congratulations Hotel Iro, you rock!…
We was one week ago in Greece and booked a room in Iro Hotel. What I can say? It was great. Wonderful meal, breaksfast and dinner was verry delicious, especially on dinner all the time was smth "neam-neam" very tasty. Where was placed our room in the night was very noisy, but for me and my husband it was ok, for family with children- maybe it can be a problem. The quality of cleaning was very good, every day. The staff...oooo the staff so kindly, so sweet and good persons. The places around the hotel - excellent- all you need. Sea is near the hotel-80 m. Thank you for all, Maria, Luigi.
When God was handing out the lands on Earth, he called the representatives of all tribes to meet at noon on a certain day…. After a night of revelry, the Greeks showed up only to find God had already allocated each tribe its land. As usual Greeks grumbled that there are only sea and rocks left… finally God conceded, “There are no more lots available than the one I had kept for myself” and gave it to them… This is how you feel when you leave Iro hotel…. Maria and her staff ….gave you the place they had kept for them, to enjoy your stay… That is the moment you remember that philo-xenia is a Greek word
My friend and I stayed at Iro hotel for nine nights. The best thing about the hotel was the staff. They were extremely pleasant and helpful. Always nice and patient. Huge thanks to Maria and Miguel for their professionalism. Rooms are cleaned every day(except for the balcony) and sheets are changed every three days. The hotel is very close to the beach, around 50 meters. You could see the sea if you are on a higher floor. The food was not in this hotel but in a hotel next to it. It is a buffet. Very large variety of food for a two star hotel. Always fresh fruit, desserts, sometimes sea food, always a choice of meat, salads, soup, pasta and pizza. Unfortunately, there is NO WI-FI in the rooms. It is available only in the lobby and the signal is not that good. Also, air conditioning and a mini fridge are not included in the price. Price for air conditioning is 6 euros per day as well as for a fridge. Some amenities were not working properly such as a shower head and a sink, which was leaking. Rooms and the entire hotel interior is old fashioned and needs some updating. Pool area is nice but its not cleaned properly and there is always trash around the pool. Please note, guest are not allowed after 9 pm. If you want to have them over, they need to pay for the room full price. It makes it kind of hard to make friends :) Overall impression was positive. With a bit of investment, this hotel could be a very pleasant place to stay. …
