Me and my husband spent 7 nights here on an all inclusive deal. This is a lovely little 3 star hotel situated in the heart of Hersonissus, very basic but clean with friendly staff. Room was checked every day and towels were changed and beds made up. Breakfast - usual suspects, tomatoes, salad, yogurt, cereal, tea, coffee, fruit juices. Eggs, toast etc Lunch/Evening Meal - all inclusive guests are served between 1:00 - 2:00pm, and 20:00 - 21:00pm there is a cold buffet consisting of salads, breads, but there is no hot buffet, everyone is served the same hot meal, I found no problem with any of the meals, the food was lovely but if you don’t like the daily hot meals then you only have cold buffet to eat. Every day was different Spaghetti and Meatballs, Chicken Casserole, Moussaka, Pork Casserole, Burger and Chips, Roast Chicken and Chips, Meatloaf with Potatoes and Veg just to name a few. A lot of the time the food wasn’t hot and this is something my husband hates. There is a lovely pool area but there is no children’s pool, in fact there were no children in this hotel during our stay it’s more catered towards adults and it’s very quiet here. The beach is only 10 minutes walk and so is the main town, with lots of lovely restaurants and nightlife, but again even down on the Main Street it wasn’t noisy it busy, maybe it’s a lot more crowded during July/Aug/Sept. We would visit this are again but not necessarily this hotel although we did enjoy the our stay. We did a couple of trips on the local train into the mountains and surrounding areas which were also enjoyable.

Enjoy our holidays! The stuff was definitely nice and very helpful. Rooms are small and simple, but always clean, daily cleaning. Thanks to the restaurant chefs, the dinner menu din't repeat within these seven days. This hotel has a great location, full of nice restaurants (just by the beach side), bars, night clubs, shopping opportunities etc.,. Close to the sea (5min). Everything was better than we expected :)

I also read all the possible reviews before booking this hotel, but afterwords we decided to book it, because it was cheap and the location was attractive to us. When we booked, we were aware it's a 3 star hotel, so we didn't expect the rooms and service as in 5 start hotel. The hotel is acceptable if you plan only to spend a night there, have breakfast and dinner maybe. We really didn't enjoy our rooms, because they were really old and they had a weird smell there, but after day two you already got used to it. We spend there 7 nights totally and was okey, because we were travelling around Crete all the time. This hotel has a great location because it's just 200 meters from bus stops where you can travel both ways to your desired destinations. We never used the beach in Hersonissos, bot about 20 minutes by bus you can get to a very beautiful and nice beach (Arina Beach is the stop) for 1,90 EUR (one way) per person. Hesonissos is really a tourist city, full of nice restaurants (just by the beach side), bars, night clubs etc., so if you are not interested in these things you will have to travel around by buses or rent a car. This hotel doesn't include air conditioning, so if you will need it you will have to pay 7 EUR/per day. The stuff was definitely nice and very helpful, nothing bad to say about them. Also the roof pool was good. In all, we concluded that the hotel was acceptable, but if we would have known all the minuses before, then we would pay more to get a better hotel with air conditioning which is already included in price and also for nicer rooms we would pay more.

Avoid if you can. Really. And thank me later. They placed several of us in the basement upon arrival (apparently, they didn't have a free "normal" room even though we booked a room via agency in advance!). Yes, the basement, literally, one level below the reception hall. You can only imagine what it was like. Unhealthy, wet rooms with greenish biological organisms living on the bathroom walls and improvised non-functioning bathroom door. The room was literally infected with mosquitoes. On the second day we threatened to leave and ask for refund so they placed us in the normal room (described below). Poor location, far from good beaches. Far from nightlife happenings (if you're young, you'll regret it). Right next to a very busy motorway, forget about good nights sleep if you get a room overlooking the road. Building itself is old and unattractive. Furniture is quite old. We changed two rooms: 1st one had faulty bathroom door, the 2nd one had faulty entry door (we had to keep it locked all the time). Rooms look poor. They even use very poor lighting, very weak light bulbs. They charge the AC extra. Bathroom is extremely low quality. There is no shower cabin! That pathetic box is not even properly separated from the rest of the bathroom so water floods it after showering. Worse still, the box is so small, an adult cannot comfortably turn inside. A tap and washbasin are mega cheap and old, barely working properly. No liquid soap, only medieval ones and they do not regularly provide new ones even when you spend the old ones. There is no electric outlet for electric razor or anything else. We had 10 days stay with breakfast. We went to breakfast only twice. That's how poor it was. Very little choice, poor quality food. It was even prepared in a mediocre way. There's a small rooftop pool. But don't count on it if you go to a beach (which is reasonably far). It closes around 6pm so you won't make it. Staff is reasonably polite. They do what they are ordered to, i don't blame them. The hotel is poorly managed and there's no way around it. It's well overdue for a major reinvestment in every sense possible. I was misled by 3 star rating. Apparently, don't count on those ratings in Greece. If you can, shell out some 100-200 EUR extra and get a hotel on the main promenade by the sea.
