There's nothing bad to say about this hotel to be honest. As we're in the middle of coronavirus pandemic I was concerned about the hygiene procedures but they were spot on at Glaros.

The rooms we're clean, housekeeping came twice during our 5 day stay and we had our towels changed 3 times. There's nothing particularly special about the rooms but they are nice, comfortable and what I expected from the pictures I saw. We had a seaview room that had a delightful view over the ocean especially at sunrise & sunset. The sound of waves can get quite loud, as the sea at that point can get pretty vigorous but when you're in the room with the door closed it's very quiet and doesn't disturb at all.

Breakfast has a decent selection so you won't get bored and tastes as good as breakfast can taste. Currently they have staff to serve all food, due to coronavirus, even though it is set out buffet style. There wasn't that many people at breakfast at the times when I went so this was never an issue and the space was always kept clean and tidy.

The pool area, restaurant and sun terraces were all well kept and clean, more than enough sunbeds for everyone, although I'd imagine in normal times it might be different but I enjoyed the reduced number of guests as it made my stay so much more pleasant and relaxing.

The staff were always pleasant, helpful and not intrusive and the other guests were all really chilled. Some of the facilities were closed, like the gym & spa, but this was to be expected during the pandemic.

The hotel is well placed to get to all the hustle & bustle of Hersonissos; being just off the main road with many shops, bars and eateries while also being on the coast path where you can walk along to "the strip" for more bars and restaurants within 5 mins. Other resorts like Stalis and Malia are really close as well, about 10 mins for Stalis & 20 mins for Malia (we hired a quad bike to get around but a taxi to these places cost about 15 euros).

I found this hotel last minute (and booked the night before we travelled) so I was hoping I hadn't booked a nightmare and I was happy with what we got. All in all this is a good hotel that I can't really fault, at decent price and I'd recommend to anyone.

My stay at this hotel was very enjoyable. The location is fantastic as it is on the beach and one block off the main tourist strip in Hersonisson. The hotel is very clean and my room had crisp white sheets and towels, and the buffet for Breakfast and Dinner was seriously good with alot of variety and changes each day. I do have a couple negatives about this hotel, but overall they do not affect my general rating. There is no coffee maker in the rooms, only a kettle, but with no tea or instant coffee. There was a small fridge. There was no information in the room regarding facilities or things in the area to see, or even the meal times. At the breakfast and dinner buffet, there is coffee machines and tea and water available but at other times all these are turned off or covered, so that if you wanted any water you are forced to purchase any drinks during lunch or dinner. There was free wifi in the lobby only, but room wifi and room safe had a charge of 3 Euros each per day. Perhaps it was due to the level of room I choose, but I felt this was not keeping up with guest expectations. But again I say that overall, this hotel was a pleasure to stay in for a week.

We loved the staff and waiters but the dining room is way too noisy, packed and bright. The music has been challenging. But overall average good buffet food. All-inclusive guests will receive tapped water and local beer/wine only it seemed. Very noisy even inside the ground floor rooms from the reception where all the internet surfers hang around. Normal internet is an extra. Bathroom way to small for **** and no powersocket to be found either. The shampoo was a joke and the sink doesn't keep the water when closed. But overall nice location for deaf people.

Pros
Room cleaned daily and new towels
Food was nice 90% of the time
Good location and views
Friendly staff
Clean pool

Cons
Groups of lads completely taking over the pool, with speakers, taking them into the restaurant too
Not enough sunbeds around the pool
Drinks served in tiny plastic cups for 2 days
Quality of drinks were not great. The only cocktail included on the all inclusive was tequila sunrise. The beer was weak and the rose wine tasted stronger some days, then not as strong the next.
Quite a long wait for drinks in the buffet restaurant.
Food not varied - mainly pork dishes

We were supposed to stay for 14 nights we ended up leaving on night 11 as we were unable to sleep due to rude and loud young lads in the rooms next to us (even after we moved rooms on night 10 due to the same problem)
Hotel staff told us that it's normal this time of year, but looking at other hotels this was not the case, they seemed to be able to disturb and do whatever they wanted, pushing in queues for drinks, bringing speakers into the restaurant, banging doors and walls and music on all through the night

The first week was manageable but after the above incidents we just wanted to come home, so we did! We loved the area but we would definitely pick a different hotel next time.

The hotel need to advertise the fact they let groups stay. There was one group of about 20+ lads who were constantly pushing in the queue for drinks and shouting their orders to the bar staff who seemed to do their first 95% of the time. If we knew they had let groups stay, then we wouldn't have stayed here.

There are 2 hotels close by, I think Palmera and Akasha and they both looked very very quiet in comparison.

Dear faya2014, Thank you for your review and for all the pros you mentioned! We are doing our best to have our guests satisfied. About the noisy young people, we did our best to inform them that they shouldn’t have loud music at least at noon, but they still didn’t stop. We try to be understanding that after 2 years of quarantine and strict covid measures, especially with young people that it was more difficult for them. On the other hand this is not common to our hotel, to have such noisy guests. Thank you again for your review and we would like to have you back sometime in the future to see the difference!

I stayed at Glaros beach hotel with my mom. The staff was amazingly warm and so kind hearted. I got sick because of my asthma. The kitchen staff brought my food to the room and also chopped ginger into fine pieces, so my mom could make ginger tea. I felt welcomed and secured. The interior of the superior room, gave me comfort as well, the warm styling of wood combining with light blue shades, got me immediately into relaxing mode(well thought about the colors). The variety of food is surprisingly good, they even had vegan cheese and almond milk! Choices for everyone who has a different eating style. If we asked for something particular, they grill it in a second. They where so gentle and nice, that we even talked about it with a friend who whe met, and also stayed at Glaros Beach, how amazingly there services are. And definitely a place to come back too.

I usually don't write reviews but I just had to share this outstanding service I got, while I was staying at Glaros Beach in Crete.

Accommodation was in Cretan Blue Beach Hotel (part of Glaros Hotels Group), located in the center of Hersonissos.
The room was clean, side sew view (you could see a glimpse of sea if you go out on the balcony, but from the room you see the wall of the building across the street),
The Cretan Blue Beach hotel is very close to Glaros beach (2 minutes walking) and has a very good restaurant located above the beach. Also has a small swimming pull on-top. Very nice view of the sea from the top :)
Very good breakfast and dinner bufet (nothing special but tasty food choices)
At lunch we choosed Veranda restaurant (at Glaros Hotel, just above the beach) and tried local and sea food meals. The food was excellent and the prices medium-low :).

Where do I start..

The only reason I would rate this hotel 1 star is due to the location. Close to all the beaches, shops and restaurants.

However, please do not make the mistake of visiting this hotel when there are many others near by. We felt more welcome by the staff at the hotel opposite ‘Mari Kristin’ where we visited every night for drinks.

On day one of our stay 19th June 2022 when we arrived at 1am we had an issue with our shower. There was a gap in between our shower so the water would come out on the floor. We raised this immediately with the reception staff, who were very arrogant and rude. They promised the engineer would come out the next day in the afternoon.

It was then 5PM the next day and we heard nothing from the engineer and we had a meal booked which we needed to get ready for. Two of us took a shower which caused a lot of water to come out of the shower and spreaded to our bedroom.

This was so fustrating. I called the reception and they said the engineer would come. He came and left without saying a word to us. I then went down to the reception and she said she would move us rooms due to the issue, however we wouldn’t of been advised of this if we didn’t keep pestering them.

We was then accused of lying by the receptionist staff and when we asked to speak to a manager there was always excuses.

Trip advisor doesn’t allow me to post videos but please contact me if you would like to see how bad this issue was.

Please do not make the mistake of staying in this hotel.. it’s terrible!!!

It was a really beautiful sweet hotel ☺️ The owners treat us like family. Never seen before such a kind & good service. My girlfriend and me felt like home at our families! The room was clean, modern and had a beautiful view to the ocean ! The hotel was for us a the best quiet place 3 min by walk from the port. Beautiful beach in front of the hotel. Best beach @IOs for us. Our breakfast was handmade and fresh every morning 😍
We will come again ! For sure ! :)) Thanks a lot for the lovely time here

We had to book this at the very last minute, as our planned holiday to Rhodes had been cancelled due to the forest fires. We hadn't planned on Crete and basically took the first option we were given, as it was literally the day before we were due to go. But it worked out very well. This hotel was just all-round good service, especially from the reception desk. Excellent and diverse choice of food for breakfasts and evening meals. Nice pool, plenty of sun loungers, and a very nice restaurant attached which did great fruit cocktails that were very popular with our kids. Best feature was the close proximity to the beach, literally a few metres to steps going down to a shingle beach where the tide was always in. Warm water, even warmer than the pool. The organised trip to the big water park was also really good. My only issue was that I would expect these days for wifi to be available for free in the rooms, as well as in the downstairs public areas, but this was extra. Especially a big consideration when you have teenagers with you. But having said that, it did not detract from our overall excellent stay.

Overall I had a good experience with the hotel but there were a couple things I didn't like. The all-inclusive buffet was nice but the food was the same on most days. Most drinks (even beer) were free for the all-inclusive but for some reason I had to pay for orange juice. It was not a big problem but it was just strange.

The beds at the pool were constantly occupied. Only towards the end of the afternoon some would be free. For some reason you have to pay for the beds on the beach, which is weird since the hotel is called "glaros beach hotel".

The WiFi at the hotel is not really worth paying for. Most of the time it was slow (less than 3Mbits/sec) or it just wouldn't connect. It was not really an issue because we weren't in the hotel often anyway.

The best part about the hotel is probably the location. It's in walking distance of most popular places in the area.
