The hotel was not to bad, except the bald bartender in the night at the poolbar.. eating in front of a line of people waiting for a drink.. I think you should eat in your break but amen. Then he starts to scream in front of guests, to the animation team and being rude to guests either.. also to me! Is complaining about everything you are doing. And I think (I’m 100% sure) that you should change him because me for example, don’t want to come back just because a rude attitude of this person, it was way to much and very unprofessional behavior. For the rest, the food was good, the animation team was very good, unluckily they are just in 3 which is very small.. but you can see the effort and the happiness they are putting in to the job! Also the rooms are clean, and the waitresses are very polaid, 1 special thanks to Angelo because he is always around to give you a good feeling and make you feel welcome! Only have good things to say about Hotel Mediterraneo! We had a very nice week in Crete and ate great food and drink every day! The rooms were clean and tidy and a great view of the sea from the balconies! Rooms 629 and 630 were our rooms! Also want to send a big thank you to EVA in the restaurant who was so hospitable and funny and was also a real "tripadvisor" who advised on various excursion destinations that we visited during the week So thank you again Hotel Mediterraneo and we will recommend you to everyone who has Crete as a travel destination // Torbjörn, Ingela, Anders and Marina from Sweden

We are coming to the end of our stay here at mediterraneo , we are a family of 2 children 9yr and 11yr, 1 mum and a set of grandparents, we have loved our stay here and it is everything we wanted from a holiday, the hotel was very clean, the room was cleaned every day ,good food and plenty of options, two lovely pools ,one with slides, not hard to get a sun bed, pool bar open from 11-5 so always food available, the staff are so welcoming and very attentive but in an unassuming manner, they work so hard and nothing is too much trouble. We had an amazing beach recommendation by the waitress Eva to Voulisma beach ( 45min drive away) we hired a car for 48hrs for 80 euro. Special shout out to Eva who made our stay much more special, she really is a lovely woman who works very hard.Thankyou to everyone at the Mediterranean, we will see you again one day!! Also we went to old hersonissos and ate at a beautiful family run restaurant called Taverna Harakas , highly recommend for anyone looking for the authentic Greek experience! …

My first stay at the Mediterraneo hotel and I was pleasantly surprised by all the friendliness, always happy faces and helpful staff. I had booked a double room and got 2 separate rooms, I do not need 2 rooms with 3 beds, so I wanted to change, when I asked the staff in reception I immediately got suggestions for another room, which was really nice. Thanks Agapi! 😊 There were many stairs to the room, but was helped by a handsome man from the reception (don't know his name) who ran up with my 20kg bag as it was filled with air😊 Great service! The room was very nice and fresh, it was cleaned every day and towels were changed often and the maid I had, worked hard every day, but always happy and nice. Comfortable bed, nice pillows and fresh sheets The food in the restaurant was superb, so much to choose from and there were different themes on different evenings that made it so varied. Everything was clean and nice around the food. The staff in the restaurant were so welcoming and worked so hard and as soon as a guest had left, they were picking away and making nice for the next guest. Can also mention that some guests left the tables in total chaos, like a bomb dropped, but the staff took care of everything with a smile on their face. A tip to get a better flow where you take the food, to maybe mark on the floors in which direction to go, there were sometimes stops when people come from several directions at the same time. The bar had a lot to choose from and the staff were quick to serve and always happy. There was plenty of seating inside and out, for reading, working with a computer or just relaxing. My best recommendations and thanks to the staff. Hotel is close to the beach where you could enjoy the waves of the sea in a comfortable sun bed. Short walk to shops and fun shopping or just a break in the sun at a café. Attractions that I visited were Spinalonga with lovely boat trip and beach break after, where you were served freshly grilled. And full-day hike in Heraklion and also visited a large archaeological museum. I will be returning to Mediterraneo in September, as I was so happy and relaxing with my stay, so I need to return to explore more. Crete warmed my heart Solo traveler - looking for a new forever home. …

Arrived back a few days ago, not the most pleasant experience for a week, I'd go as far as saying not really a hotel aimed at Brits, had a very European feel to it. And we definitely wouldn't give it a high star rating. Food - luke warm at best every sitting. Not the best quality either, chips were OK though! Drinks - worst we've ever had at an all inclusive, minimal local options available & included. No cocktails included, anything additional to drink was chargeable and post 11pm you had to pay for anything. Soft drinks awful, shop onsite though and some drinks cheaper there than the hotel bar. We ended up drinking bottles we bought on the plane to get some variety. Wine was vile, steer clear unless you have guts of steel, how others drank it I'll never know, their taste buds must be none existent. Staff - two really nice males on reception. They resolved issues for us a couple of times when the female receptionist didn't do anything with our requests, all we wanted was additional towels on a couple of ocassions (they either never turned up to the room or we were left hand towels instead of shower towels). And a taxi that also never turned up, because it was never ordered by her. Bar staff abrupt and pretty miserable. I'm not sure if the majority are trained to be miserable or just hate their jobs but costs nothing to be polite, helpful & have manners, like the guests. Entertainment - none existent really, disco which wasn't great. No atmosphere in the bar area, apart from the night there was thunder & lightening and the disco came to the bar. Poor gaming area for kids, minimal activities in the day (water aerobics & ping pong). Rooms - pretty basic, showers open, no curtain or screen, with small shower tray so the water goes everywhere!! Thankfully towels were changed daily, needed when you have to mop the swimming pool from the bathroom! Beach - have to cross a dual carriageway to reach it, found this misleading in the description when booking - nice though Good half hour walk to bars/ restaurants, maybe more, we went out 3 nights of our week just for some good food, get a taxi @ €8 each way, worth it. Would we come back... no! Think the only employee who was polite to us as a party was the blonde female entertainer. All other staff looked and sounded like they didn't want to be there!! Good job the group we went with made up for everything else! I'd strongly recommend looking elsewhere for an all inclusive if you want to come to this area, plenty more around which we noticed on the coach ride back to the airport! …

Enjoyed our 8 nights stay here. Particularly enjoyed the food and it felt like the Chefs made a lot of effort with the dishes on offer. There were theme nights e.g. Mexican, Chinese, Greek etc and the foods were very good. We took the bus outside the hotel to Mallia cost around £3 took around 20 mins and was worth the visit. Also at the same bus stop we took the sightseeing open train around Heronissos again a good thing to do cost 16 Euros. I enjoy swimming but unfortunately the pool was just too cold for me. We arrived late but were not offered any food or drink which was a shame.

We arrived really late and the staff were very friendly getting us food and drinks, they showed us to our room. Room absolutely spotless and very nice sea view. We then decided to hire a car and the reception team Agapi and Johnny were so helpful and friendly nothing was too luch trouble for them, it was our sons birthday while away and the reception team helped us sort a cake out and the restaurant manager set out a table all decorated for him. The pool area vert clean and plenty of sunbeds, we didn't like the food but it was personal preference. We would definitely stay again as staff we so friendly and helpful.

Just been to this hotel and it's very clean staff are very friendly and helpful my mother in laws mobility scooter packed in and the matincence man fixed this for her and got it running and didn't even ask for a single penny of them brilliant service the reception are fantastic and kind Johnny and agnpi are amazing and a credit to this hotel they are helpful with area and helped get the family on trips and hire cars would recommend the only down side to the hotel is the WiFi it's free in the lobby but eveywere else you have to pay and its per device so can work out expensive if you have 5 in a family for 2 weeks

Our second visit to the Mediterraneo Hotel, we were welcomed like long lost family by the management team and staff. The room was stunningly beautiful, the view from our room was breathtaking, the food unbeatable in quality, quantity and mouth watering superb. The staff are unbelievably friendly, those that we got to know well have become friends. To the owners and management team who always found time to say a few kind words, we thank you for your kindness. I thank Agapi for being the most beautifully friendly hands on person behind the reception. My brother from another mother, Angelo, the Captain of the restaurant and kitchen who never stopped producing a daily culinary service of the highest order. The most helpful staff that worked so hard to please us with their enthusiastic service and friendliness, we can only name a few, Eva, Anna, Nico and his wife, we do apologise for not remembering all their names, you are the foundation that makes the Mediterraneo Hotel our most memorable place to go on holiday.…

We stayed 3 nights, with 3 kids. The staff is really good. The rest? Not so good. The hotel is very old. We took the "vila" with private pool. The vila worth 3 stars. Not more. Old and need upgrade! The food is OK but not more. By the end of the day, the staff is very good, all the rest is average. Value for money? I assume that you can get better offers in other hotels in crete.
