Everything about the hotel was great! Pools, cold but the kids didn’t care! Slides, went on everyday. Didn’t catch the lifeguards name who was on duty the week we were there but he was great (black hair and beard) the kids loved him and he had a laugh with them every day! The food was very good, lots of choice and very rarely any queues. Never had to wait too long for a drink either. My wife said Maria, who took yoga, and the staff at the spa all deserved a special mention also. The room was spacious, had all we needed, and was cleaned every day. Only a very short walk into Stalis and a little longer into Hersonissos and both very nice places with lots of choice for food and drink and nice beaches. We very rarely go back to the same place but my wife has said she’d definitely go back here!

Very average experience but great food. Pros: • The hotel itself was nice externally, but lot more could be done inside, especially around the reception area. • The food was gorgeous, very fresh with lots of choice. • The staff were great and friendly. • The slides are good fun. • Nice that there is an “adult pool, kids/fun pool and normal pool”. The tennis is also good. Cons: • The animation team were horrendous. They stood around all day against a wall, didn’t engage people and weren’t very animating. We were looking for the “cocktail game” everyday it was advertised, but couldn’t find it anywhere. No effort made by them at all. • The all inclusive finished at 10:30pm which was disappointing. • Out superior rooms were very spacious but lacks facilities. No kettle, tea or coffee or evening a welcome book. Our double bed was just two singles pushed together which made things awkward. • The maids walked in our room in a morning without evening knocking, we had no privacy. • As mentioned above, the exterior of the building is fantastic but they would most definitely improve the athletic of reception area. • They would benefit from having allergy cards above the dishes stating what is in it, as I am gluten free and it was difficult some nights finding the chef to tell me what was gluten free. They did provide a packet of gluten free bread which was rock hard but I was glad they had something. Not a terrible stay but not a very memorable one. It does have potential but I wasn’t blown away.

A really lovely stay at the Grand Hotel, despite the weather changing for the worse practically as soon as our week started. The food and drink were always first class with plentiful choice and variety for every meal. There was always more wine, cocktails and soft drinks on offer, and when something wasn’t all-inclusive, staff made this very clear, and offered us alternatives, for example bottled water for free with dinner, or the packed lunches being available for the next day. Negatives were all beyond the hotel’s control: the distance to the beach (but the hotel offered a free shuttle service), the temperature of the pools (but usually this would have been ideal if more sunny), the indoor pool and outdoor theatre both being closed (because of Covid). A couple of members of staff deserve special mention: George and Kostas both went out of there way to serve, and both appeared genuinely proud to work there. Little things like remembering salt and pepper sachets, or the cocktail choices despite the multitude of other customers. One more thing about the drinks: the spirits for the most part were proper brands, and the juices were proper juices and not squashes saturated with sugar. Lemonade was Sprite from bottles for cocktails and not cheap on-tap stuff. Overall a lovely room, lovely staff, and a great chance to relax; just a shame the sunshine was absent for most of the half term break.

This has got to be by far one of the best all inclusive we have stayed in for value for money, the all inclusive does end at 10:30pm, but this was never a problem for us. It was great that everything was available between these items, and even got nuts/nibbles to go with your drinks, never had this before. The foods here is outstanding, something different everyday, and was very good quality, lamb chops one day and they were amazing. The staff could not do enough for you, from the gentleman that see you into the restaurant and set you, they also asked how we were and said hello, to the wait staff, there were two young ladies, George and a young gentleman, I think his name was Demetiri, who deserve a special mention, they went above and beyond, even though the restaurant could get very busy! Even in Covid times I felt completely at ease in this hotel, with them giving you gloves to do the food at the buffet, which was great as then you could have as much or as little as you like, and the mini bottles of wine in the evening, just made the whole place seem so much more than a standard all inclusive hotel. The only let down for this hotel was the room, which is why the review has been knocked down a star, we booked a superior room, although the room was large, and the view was nice of the sea, we did not get the tea and coffee making facilities that were advertised when booked, and I do not believe the room warranted the extra money. Other than that we would definitely return to this hotel, but would just book standard.

From the moment we arrived until the minute we left we had the most beautiful and courteous experience from the staff who work so hard in order for holiday makers to have a wonderful time. The Grand Hotel and surroundings are immaculate thanks to the maids who work tirelessly. The food is excellent with plenty of choice for meat eaters and vegetarians alike. So spoiled for choice. The Agean Restaurant was a special experience and felt to glamorous with the crystal chandeliers. George gets a special mention from the buffet restaurant as he is so sweet. The facilities including the pools are spacious with plenty of seating areas for all and no need to panic for sun beds. The pools are very cold though and could do with heating in the cooler months. I only went in once because of this. Superb views of the sea and mountains from the room which had large terraces or a balcony. Entertainment first class although not on every night. Plenty to do in the day with the flumes, football, darts, games room, boules, water gym. If you just want to laze round the pool it’s very chilled and there’s no pressure to get involved in any of the activities if you don’t want. So sad to leave yesterday and would definitely go back!
