Just back from King Minos Palace hotel... it was a hotel that our travel company changed us to from an original booking in a hotel somewhere else in Crete.... was supposed to be very similar so we went ahead with the change. Had a bit of a shock because there are steps everywhere.... ( l have a knee problem so wouldn’t have chosen this hotel for that reason) more sadly for us because we love the beach were the steps going down to the beach ... coming back up in the heat was a killer. The balconies have no privacy ( no screening between them) so you felt you were sitting with strangers whenever you sat outside your room. You pay for WiFi but it’s then only available in the lounge area and pool area and it’s a bit hit and miss as you move away from actual pool into the seating bar area. But the pool was one of the best we have seen and lovely to swim in very clean and plenty of sun beds around it. The reception and dining room staff were very friendly and helpful. The entertainment team was good. Rooms were clean with a small fridge in.

Just back from a weeks stay at the hotel booked via Tui. Overall a superb stay. The postivies are vast, an amazing pool, great entertainment team- Josh and a colleague whose name I have forgotten - sorry, superb treatments - had two massages both excellent . Staff are so so friendly and helpful. Great food, comfortable rooms, good aircon. Walk to the beach is about 10 mins, uphill climb on the way back. 15 to 20 minute walk to the busier part of the resort. Negatives are few - slightly dated in parts, could do with a few more sun beds and to make better use of some of the spaces in the hotel. There are amazing views from the front of the hotel but no outside seating area to enjoy them from apart from the dining area which is semi open. I would recommend the hotel and would return.

Had a great time at this hotel, the pool/bar area was a great place to chill out, whilst still being able to have a good laugh. The food was a bit cold majority of the time but had a good selection. The animation team was great, couldn't fault them, lovely people! Tom, Steve, Des, Paul, Mark and Tony

If you have mobility problems think carefully before selecting this hotel. The food is average and very often cold however the selection was quite good. All the staff are friendly and efficient especially in the restaurant and pool bar. The hotel is very clean and there are good restaurants in the port area which is about a 7euro taxi journey. The pool area is good and there is an animation team who are good - they do not harass you to take part and the evening entertainment is mostly good. Avoid the Greek night. Note there is not a laundry service as stated in the Tui brochure.
