The hotel is just amazing . We really loved the buffet and the fact that everything was served by the kitchen staff always warm and fresh . We had a nice seafront room and the view is breathtaking. We only tried 3 a la cart restaurants because it was easier with the children to eat fast at the main restaurants but there where all great . The water park is out of this world and probably the best one in the country. We won’t stop loving this place and I can’t wait to come back soon.. A big thanks to all the nana golden beach for making our stay amazing .
Having visited this hotel in 2017 and loved it so much we thought we would come again and bring my parents along as we knew from what we described they would love it too…. However we were very disappointed in the changes made to this hotel and we are very sad to say that we wouldn’t go back. We cannot fault the cleanliness of the entire complex or any of the staff who work so hard to look after everyone. Food:- The main Buffett restaurant which can now only be described as a school canteen is an awful place to eat due to the location as it’s in a basement of a block, the noise is awful and the food is to be honest rubbish… it’s always lukewarm or cold. If it wasn’t for the a-la-carte restaurants we would have eaten out everyday day rather than eat in their!!!! The resort now doesn’t seem to cater or care for couples who have holidayed without children, whilst we appreciate that it’s a family resort their enough pools to make one adult only as you cannot escape and chill out in peace. The main lobby bar is also too small for the size of the resort so they have added a beach bar where they have entertainment in the evenings but the seating area is awful, chairs with no cushions just hard plastic so you can’t sit and enjoy the entertainment. It’s a real shame that it’s lost what we experienced before and that our parents were also disappointed as it’s not what they were expecting either but it’s still a very nice hotel but not to our liking anymore. If an adult only restaurant, pool, bar was created then we may re-consider.…
Just back from 10 days here - after a great holiday. Firstly, the hotel itself, the grounds and the amenities are all amazing. Everything felt brand new, everywhere was clean and tidy and the rooms were beautiful. The food was also all delicious, and there are options everywhere dotted around the resort. Even the main restaurant which can sometimes let down an all inclusive was all great. However, the service was so disappointing and really changed our view of the hotel. If it wasn’t for our experience with the staff, who individually were mostly lovely, we would have considered coming back. We repeatedly waited crazy lengths of time for drinks at meals, one time waiting for coffee for 40 minutes at breakfast; after chasing 4 times. It felt as if there was an understaffing issue across the hotel, watching the staff run around like headless chickens at dinner with everyone around us having empty glasses repeatedly was frustrating. On one occasion, both me and my partner had empty glasses at dinner and my partners was refilled and mine left. Individually, the minor staffing issues weren’t a big deal but they happened multiple times a day, every day and everyone else we spoke to had a similar opinion that the service was letting down what is otherwise a great resort. Again, I put it down to how overworked the staff felt, but we did also come across a few staff members who were quite abrupt and rude, and made us feel as if were bothering them by asking for anything. A real shame as otherwise a fantastic holiday.…
Don’t listen to the bad reviews! Just got back from an amazing week at Nana Golden Beach. Rooms- were beautiful and spacious. Mini fridge restocked daily with water and soft drinks. Plenty of towels and toiletries. Beds were very comfortable. Pools- we mainly stayed round the main pool during our stay as this was the more lively area and where the main entertainment took place. We never had an issue getting any sun beds. Always plenty available whatever time we arrived. (Pools are salt water) Swim up bar was great and the main bar man Tony was hilarious. (Watch out for the water gun!! ) Water park- this is new to the resort and it was great. Our kids loved it. It was never very busy either, so didn’t even need to queue to go on any of the slides. You can go in and out whenever you like. Staff- all staff we interacted with during our stay were all very friendly and worked so hard to make sure you were happy and looked after. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Food- the food here is amazing. The main restaurant always had lots of choice and changed daily for lunch and dinner. We only really ate breakfast there, as we had lunch in the restaurant by the main pool which was serve yourself. Again there was always lots of choice, which changed daily. We couldn’t get enough of the delicious desserts! The a la carte restaurants had to be booked in advance and were lovely. Our favourites were the Italian and the Meat-In. The steak was to die for!! There was a bit of an issue with our booking for the meat in, which meant it hadn’t gone through properly and we weren’t down on their paperwork when we arrived. But the manager was so lovely wnd apologetic and made sure we still got to dine there. The views from the Italian and Meat in are absolutely beautiful too. Grounds/resort- the grounds are clean and well maintained and the views are beautiful. The resort itself is just so nice. Very clean, modern and the decor everywhere is just gorgeous. Beach- it’s private to the resort and has its own little harbour with things like pedalos, jet skis etc that you can rent. We went down onto the rocks and swam in the sea a few times and it was so clear and refreshing. Entertainment- during the day, the entertainment team do a great job. They get people involved in the water games/excercise classes and also the daily poolside games. Fillipo is so friendly and our kids loved him! The kids went once to the afternoon maxi kids sports club and were the only 2 there, but they loved it and had a good couple of hours trying different sports. We saw a few of the shows on an evening in the open air theatre and the ocean side bar, which were all brilliant. Local area- we took a taxi down to the local town of Hersonissos one morning which was about €8 and had a little walk around the shops. We walked back which only took about 40 mins or so on a straight road. Overall we had an amazing week, shame it wasn’t for longer! Would definitely recommend Nana Golden Beach to anyone wanting to visit Crete and would love to go back there.…
Myself and my partner recently returned from Nana Golden Beach in Crete after a wonderful weeks stay. I feel the hotel needs this review as they seemed to be mixed, just before I was due to make the final payment for the holiday I had seen a number of bad reviews which made me question if I should have changed the hotel. However I’m so glad that I didn’t!!! We had a late flight landing in Crete, we had the TUI bus transfer to the hotel, using the TUI app we were told Nana Golden Beach would be stop 1 by TUI however we seemed to wait around 40 mins waiting to go. When the local TUI rep got on the bus to introduce himself they gave the list of hotels and it seemed that we had been waiting for other flights arriving as there was a lot more hotels than was listed on the TUI transfer notification, Nana Golden was actually stop 5 so it took a while to get from the airport to the hotel. Arriving at the hotel staff were on hand straight away assisting with taking luggage from the bus, check in was easy and straight forward, we had a golf buggy trip to our room with our luggage which was easy. Our room was on the third floor of the block but the porter ran all of our luggage up the stairs without us asking. He was very happy and clearly enjoyed his job, he showed us round the room and pointed out the features of the room which was a lovely touch. We had upgraded the room at the time of booking to a sea view and the view was amazing! The room had everything you could need, a lovely bed, plenty of bed linen and towels, a mini fridge with soft drinks and plenty of storage for clothes and luggage. We didn’t try all the resturants on site however did the majority: be sure to book reservations either via the QR code which can be done as soon as you check in or at a desk in the main restaurant between 11am and 3pm - Armetis the main restaurant had a lot of selection for all, I noticed there was an area for gluten free food and a seperate area for kids. Breakfast was a typical selection of hot or cold continental breakfast, dinner choices were different to evening choices which was good, you didn’t feel like you were eating the same food. - Azzuro was the Italian, lovely setting right at the very end of the complex looking over towards Stalis and Malia in the distance, this was the first Al Carte we tried, we were sat on the end of the restaurant but with a view over the sea, we picked our food which was straight forward, we picked a starter, main and dessert. A short while after we ordered another couple was placed at the table right beside us, the restaurant wasn’t particularly full so felt they were on top of us in a way as opposed to sitting people apart. The pizzas were lovely! - Thasalla the Greek restaurant was the second restaurant we tried, and this was something special! We weren’t given a menu however you can find the menu online. You were given everything off the menu which was amazing, it was so good trying different foods as there were things I wouldn’t have normally tried. Special mention to the manager who served us on this occasion, she was lovely and took the time to talk to us. - Meat-In the steak house was the BEST food by far! Panos was brilliant, very passionate about what he does. I have a good allergy and was able to speak with Panos with no issue at all, I had mad reference to it when I booked the table like I had with all bookings but Panos was the first to pick up on it and check with us which one of us had the allergy. He made sure I was happy and that I certainly wasn’t hungry. The most amazing setting on the top floor over looking the complex and the sea. I had th steak for a main which was lovely, cooked perfectly to my liking. My partner had the burger, the only thing I would say is it was served very pink without being asked, the taste of the meat was really good though. - Zorbas was the last Alcarte which we tried and we actually left a little disappointed, the restaurant was busy with only 3 staff for seating, order taking, serving and cleaning up. Which left 1 staff member covering around 8/9 tables on their own. They just needed 1 or 2 more staff to give a hand and this would have helped, the staff worked non stop. If you wanted wine you had a glass poured and were just given the bottle. The starters were lovely, I can’t remember the staff members name but he seemed to be the manager again was very good with my allergy, recognised it and ensured my order was taken by him. I had the cheese for starters which was lovely and the gyros for main, the gyros was disappointing gyros are served in the main restaurant and I preferred the chicken gyros from the main restaurant than Zorbas. Large number of bars on site, and some drinks are the same at all bars however some differ, I found the cocktails at the main panorama bar were quite limited, however different cocktails with a lot more selection were served at the pool bar. I don’t know why the menus differed from different areas of the hotel. The only comment I would make about the drinks are they they are often too strong!! At the sunset bar we used Google translate to ask for a single measure as having previously watched drinks being made they are generally half spirit half mixer. Plenty of pools around the site, it was nice to have a variety as some days around the main pool were louder than others due to entertainment etc. Be prepared for plenty of walking at this hotel, for us it wasn’t an issue and it was nice to get out for a walk I would say it was a mile to walk round the hotel. The site is quite hilly with steps being the main access. The porters seemed to drive some groups around which was good. The staff work so hard at this hotel, working long hours, the staff who serve you at breakfast, serve you at dinner, tea and can still be seen of an evening. There was a lot of new staff getting trained up while we were there in preperation for the main season. The hotel overall is very clean, modern and with plenty to do. Plenty of space for everyone and no issues with sunbeds etc. We had such a lovely time, for the price we paid and the week we had I cannot fault the hotel. The comments above are purely for some direction. We were asked a couple of times to leave reviews as they help massively. The only comment I could make about the hotel is the serving of nuts, again this is not a fault more a comment to assist in direction for the hotel. This was a regular thing at the main bar and the sunset bar, everytime you ordered a drink you were giving a serving of either almonds or roasted peanuts, for someone with an allergy to peanuts everytime I had to say no it was becoming tiring towards the end of the week and given the potential for cross contamination/touching of drinks it was something I had to manage myself with my partner. I understand people eat them and being around them is something I manage on a daily basis but to be given them them 4/5 times an evening and saying no everytime it was a lot. Perhaps they could be something given to people should they ask for them and not given out with every drink as I won’t be the first to use this hotel with a nut allergy or be the first person to not want nuts.…
We visited Meat-In 3 times during our 2 week holiday. The food was exceptional, as were the staff, nothing we asked was a problem. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the desert was to die for. Panos made each visit special without fail, he is a credit to this fantastic restaurant.
I have just come back from a 2 week trip to Golden Nana beach with my boyfriend. Such an amazing hotel and so stunning in both the interior and exterior. We arrived very late at night and check in was so easy and the front desk staff were so helpful and explained to us where we could get some food. The all night buffet was so nice after a long plane journey and transfer and us both being starving. I loved the food and the main Artemis restaurant always had a lot of choice and could always find a table. Credit to all the chefs and servers who were so helpful and quick also a mention to Anna-Marie who was especially nice and even remembered our drinks order every night. Definitely deserves some credit from her managers what an amazing team member. The carbonara was hands down the best I have ever had and I fell in love with gyros all over again. We went to the Azzuro Italian al a carte restaurant which has breathtaking views of the sea and the coast and we even got transported via golf cart. The food was lovely and so was the atmosphere. Once again staff so helpful and amazing. So many pools to choose from but loved the main pool shout out to Tony the pool bar man absolutely hilarious and would make any drink you asked. Also the animation team were so nice and good at their jobs always getting everyone involved and talking to everyone around the hotel. The entertainment was always spot on and there was always something different and for everyone the acrobatics show is one not to miss. Aneymos bar by the sea is such a nice vibe and special mention to Billy who struck up a nice friendship with my boyfriend and always to all the lovely staff that work there always up for a laugh and a chat. The live music was a favourite and there was some incredible singers. The rooms were very modern and spacious and had lots of storage space which I needed with all my clothes. The bathroom had great large sinks and a walk in rainfall shower. Loved sitting on our balcony looking at our mountain view in the morning and the night. Location was good a bus stop right outside to take you to Stalida or Heronossios and very frequent but also in walking distance around 10-15 minutes. Overall I loved this hotel and would recommend to couples and families as had a great time and wouldn’t hesitate to come back!…
Second time here and although its bigger it still feels like a second home. Its turned into more like family hotel now with many children and my only criticism was with the new huge main restaurant and its acoustics, just too loud and busy for me but i hope they can sort this out and maybe have a separate adults section. Costatina was so helpful and service minded. I have to say all the staff were lovely and so helpful. Maria in the restaurant is still running everywhere and always with a smile. The new restaurants Italian Meat and Asia were great. We've had a lovely holiday and have now rebooked for 2023.
Family holiday 2022 at this hotel was amazing. Ilias the manger and all the staff couldn’t do enough for us. Didn’t have one bad thing to eat and even the kids tied different food for the first time being away normally only have chicken nuggets and chips ( which they do do) . The water park is amazing the animation team were brilliant would definitely come back.
Where do I start,we checked in just two couples then we were on our way to our room we upgraded to a sea view room amazing over the week we tried three al carte restaurants but by far the best was the meatin amazing steaks fab service all the bars were excellent service couldn't fault the drinks quality all international branded spirits, never been in a Mediterranean hotel with this quality and high standards, could go on for ever but will end on if you look at this hotel don't pass it bye try it for yourselves you honestly won't regret it
