We recently finished off our vacation to Crete with a 4 day stay at the Elmi suites. To provide some context look at the attached pictures. And feel free to sing a long.
The hotel has stunning views from the small cliff face restaurant. An extensive AI drinks package, & excellent food. The standards are extremely high & were consistent.
There is very little that I could say that isn't a positive. Aside from we had an early morning flight & had booked an early breakfast. The reception requested our room number etc. However, on getting up, arriving at the dining facility. There was no breakfast, No provision, & staff were only just coming in. (Extremely Poor). That is possibly more a reflection on a staff member, but reflects on the hotel. As a paying guest you are both entitled & expect to be fed.
The other point to work on are the pool toilets which are below ground that are infested with flies & mosquitoes. Something like electric fly zappers or keeping the doors closed might help. But this is not a good look.
Aside from this the hotel is highly recommended. Would I stay here again: Yes, we paid £72 per night for a junior suite to provide some context, which was great value for money. Although a 15 minute walk into the centre of the resort. It has a beautiful beachfront location on the promenade. Although the hotel does look slightly dated.
To those going on an AI if this is what you seek. Humans also feature on the mosquito AI menu. During the time here. They were everywhere. So unless like me you don't get bitten. Take plenty of repellent.

Came here 22nd May 2015 for a week all inclusive. Paid £180 each through Teletext Holidays. Forget the poor reviews and nit picking, if you get a deal like that or anywhere near it, don't hesitate just book it! We flew with Thomas Cook and the plane and flights were superb. We booked a taxi transfer (€35 each way) and arrived at about 9.pm. The lady on reception showed us straight to the restaurant for dinner as this finished at 9.30 and let us book in afterwards. They noticed I had a Walking stick so offered me a low floor room (102). Our bags were taken to our room for us , they couldn't have been more helpful. The room was a self catering style suite with a bedroom, lounge/ kitchen/diner, bathroom and balcony. It was spotless. Towels and sheets were changed every other day and the room was kept very clean. The food was simple but very tasty, not cordon blue but plenty of variety, well cooked and often delicious. How they do it for the money is beyond me. The all inclusive drinks programme stops at 10 pm and the only spirits you can have are brandy, Raki, ouzo. You can upgrade to get locally produced vodka and whisky for €10 a day. My wife drinks vodka and a shot of Smirnoff is €5. I stuck with the draught beer and the ouzo and was very happy! The staff are all very friendly and genuinely want to make sure you enjoy yourself. The pool area is great and very clean, we had no complaints at all. Worth much more than we paid. If you've been to Greece before and know the standards of their tourist hotels you'd accept this as four star, but if you're comparing to UK hotels it's probably a 3*. The only negative I can come up with (and it took me a while) is that there were a lot of Mosquitos and wasps about. We bought a spray in the shop opposite and a plug in insecticide device and sprayed the room when we went out, problem solved. Oh yeah, there were no English TV channels, I saw ants in the street, there were the usual English brats on quad bikes being a pain and some of the people in the local area didn't speak The Queens English fluently! Unlike some of the well travelled authors of previous reviews of this hotel I can't think of anything to whinge about, so I'll just end by saying that this is a budget hotel on a truly beautiful Island staffed by lovely people who are a credit to their employers and great ambassadors to their country. I for one recognise and appreciate the fact that for a very modest amount of Money they gave us a lovely holiday and wish them every success.

The Hotel rooms are in bad state,- air con not working,- lights not working,- TV reception rubbish,- food quality OK but boring, - free drinks, wine, beer, soft drinks, and brandy, between 10 till 10, anything other you have to buy, - no entertainment. - snacks were bread and salad, Would say the Hotel was full board not All Inclusive. One the good side, it was close to the Beach and Town, and the overworked Staff were very helpful.

Let’s start with the positive, the staff was 5 star all the way. We arrived in the middle of the night got rooms all over the place but it was all sorted in the morning.
The staff worked hard to turn over drinks and ice cream from two bars. Almost always with a smile. They saved the holiday.
The Elmo suit is one building and the rooms are fantastic. However we had unspecified rooms from lastminute.com and ended up in Porto Greco village. The rooms are clean worn spacious with out facilities. 2 star at most. Make sure what room you have booked. For the cosmo group. Do not over sell, you just create unhappy customers….
Cleaning was good the rooms where clean but a couple of extras like glasses, iron etc would push the room up in rating.
The all inclusive food was at best mundane. The green session had burgers chips and pasta… not great. The fish was tasteless, the chicken when served was the highlight but I can cook that at home any day so very disappointed. Yes we ha overcooked prawns one day but we had to go out at night to get a decent meal. Plenty of restaurants, just avoid Scorpio bar and orian bar as they have the same kitchen and the same food as all inclusive more or less
The pools are small and there is a constant fight for sun chairs as in any resort.
They have basketball half court in the basement …. Yes they actually do and it’s perfect for 2v2 or shooting. The gym is half broken, but a few weights and bars you can make a decent workout.
The spa and bubble pools are down here as well. Did not use them, but they did not look inviting to use at all unfortunately.
We hoped for a 4 start experience, the staff delivered but everyone else let us down….

Very bad all inclusive hotel. The only resturant is the buffet with terrible food. The staff never smiles and are not helpful with anything. Asked for a room with sea view, we booked a very expesive suite and expected it to be possible to get what we asked for, but we get a room with pool view where all the guests can stare directly into our room 24/7…. Would not recommend going here, the hotel next door is 10 times better!!

Don`t go to this hotel if you are in need of quiet and relaxation,stayed for 2 weeks at this hotel 30-08-2011 to 13-09-2011.The food is swill,totally revolting,even the chef did not know what the food was he had cooked,ok if you prefer salad`s breakfast,lunch and dinner,all inclusive drinks were,local lager,which incidently the pumps broke for 2 days,or local brandy.This hotel was full of Eastern Europeans,who made a show of themselves round the pool,getting drunk as they were drinking from breakfast to early morning,balls being thrown around the pool,hitting guest`s.If you want a early night,give up,because they were back in the pool from 4-00am till 6-00am,shouting and making a show of themselves.The hotel receptionist was not able to say anything to these guest,as it was a girl all alone,as I my self would not have liked to confront them .In the state they were in.The rooms are minging,with bed bug`s,had to see a chemist twice,due to infected bed bug bite`s.Which cost`s a arm and a leg.Thought I was going to loose my leg,it having swelled 4 time`s it`s size on the shin.Also left great big holes after the blister`s had gone.I would not give this hotel even 1 star rating,let alone a four star.This holiday has put us of visiting the Greek Island`s ever again.Will be sticking with good old Blighty.

Anybody coming to Crete should stay here, very nice rooms and very friendly staff..the best food and the restaurant area is fantastic ..it's in the center of hersonisos near the beach and near shopping areas..we recommend it as it was the best holidays we had..we will surely be back..thank you for the good service and a great time.

This hotel is advertised as 4 star. It is not! It is located in a small, noisy side street in the middle of nowhere. The room was average, the food was poor, there was no entertainment except the BAR, that's your lot. There were no local bars or restaurants, unless you want to walk half a mile to one. The fixtures and fittings were less than 2 star. The toilet seat was made of the cheapest plastic, that I doubt even pound shops would sell them and it was held on by cable ties - hardly 4 star! It advertises sat tv in every room. The 8 channels that we managed to get were either unwatchable or in a foreign language. The only up side of our stay was that the staff were fairly friendly and helpful. I'm only glad that I only had to stay 2 nights. If you have booked to stay here then I seriously recommend that look to book somewhere else. This is not a 4 star hotel; believe me I've stayed there.

On the other hand it is rather strange, that you did not realize, that around our hotel there are plenty of bars, pubs, restaurants in 3 min walking distance...Probably in only 2 days you did not have enough time to explore the area .Also it is rather usual that in the same period with you there are more guests who loved our hotel while you did not.Everybody has its own taste. We wiil though keep on trying to get better and better day after day, so that if, in future you will stay with us, you will be also one of our satisfied guests. With best regards The management

Overall my boyfriend and I didn't stay at the hotel much so in the end we didn't care this much about the hotel quality but for people who do it's better to know the pro's and con's.
Pro's:
- Great location close to the boulevard and starbeach.
- Because of the location no noise at night!
- Hotel tries to be village like so it feels little bit like your own home.
- If you arrive late they will keep some food for you to eat.
- Nice location of the restaurant at the seaside
- Staff at the reception very helpful and nice.
- Nice two pools.
- rooms are very traditional and greek. (we like that because it feels more special than the standard modern rooms that have lost there character.)
No for he Con's:
- The rooms were old and cupboards were broken.
- Shower pressure was broke and only gave Cold/Burning water.
- Limited utility's for cooking.
- Poor cleaning, dirt behind doors and under beds also a lost panty from a former guest.
- Towels are not changed every day.
- All-inclusive was confusing, the restaurant across the street made you walk up and down because they started later with serving drinks then the buffet at the pool. (irritating!)
- Monotone food they recycled (ieuw!) and no typical greek food!
- Pool-bar guy was kinda dumb forgetting drinks when he saw young girls.
- Snacks was only brownies at the pool-bar nothing more. (that came from breakfast)
- All-inclusive alcohol was only Raki, Ouzo and Brandi.
(most places iv e been to served at bit more diversity.)
- Hotel was not fully booked but still not enough pool-beds!?
The hotel is very minimal with the rooms and the all-inclusive.
But for just sleeping it's pretty oke and for a couple in a apartment it feels pretty big.
Because of the excursions we did not always eat at the hotel so it didn't bother us so much.
There were no bugs and the beds were clean and that was our main priority.
If you're looking for something simple and with a nice location go for it.
The hotel has allot of potential and I hope they'll use it in the future.
ps. for some really good typical food go to restaurant: Fresh at the boulevard one of the first ones just before the heavy tourism part.) Try the grilled cuttlefish and some typical greek cuisine we loved it and the service was so adoring!

We have just returned from ten wonderful days away in Elmi suites. My Husband and I chose to celebrate our twenty five years of marriage with our two beautiful children and their partners. On arriving late at the Hotel for the start of our holiday we were offered a delicious plate each of cheeses ,meat ,stuffed vine leaves. The rooms we had were beautifully located near the pool area and reception. The Apartment was basic with a comfortable bed,a dressing table with a stool, a table and selection of wooden chairs.
The housekeepers were wonderful and worked so hard to maintain cleanliness around the complex. The blonde lady at Reception was really helpful.
The food was delicious and varied from fruits cheeses meats,pastas,soups ,breads the lovely sweet man who grilled lamb chicken and pork on the grill plates outside cooked the variety of meats superbly as well as cooking little crepes and fried eggs for breakfast.
Ilia the bar man was very attentive and always had a smile for everyone who visited for a beverage or afternoon tea and cake.
Kristian one of the waiters was a delight and assisted me following a painful bee sting with vinegar and ice compresses. All the waiters and Staff at Elmi worked so hard to make our holiday so special. The hotel was a stone throw away from the beach and also the Town where we enjoyed dancing in some of the bars,go Karting, pitch and putt.
The two pools were lovely and clean at the complex and there were sufficient sun beds and parasols.
The dining area was either near one of the pools or on a veranda looking out to sea.
Our Apartment had a little balcony with a plastic table and chairs .
The air conditioning in the room was amazing and refreshing from the heat outside.
The location of the Hotel was excellent if you chose to take the scenic sea route on foot to Star Beach for a swim in the sea to very loud music.
Walking the other route on foot took you in to the heart of Town with a variety of places to eat and different shops/supermarkets.
Thank you to all the Team at Elmi for making our Holiday/celebration so memorable.

Dear Sir/Madam,
You need not have such fear since the only policy we have regarding this matter is to collect all items from loungers at 08:30 in the morning and at 18:30 in the evening. All objects and towels that are collected are transferred to the reception office, from where they could be recollected by their respectful owners. Also there are four pools in total with plenty of loungers and parasols for all our guests to enjoy the wonderful sunny weather in Greece!

I am glad that you asked, as we would like to clarify this mistake made from oyster and other online travel agents. Elmi Suites is since 2018 a 38 suites hotel with room services and facilities mentioned in our website. We are trying to correct this mistake made, but until then and in order to be absolutely sure, you should book through elmisuites [.] com or booking [.] com for Elmi Suites because the rest websites might have mistaken it with Porto Greco Village Beach Hotel, since both hotels share their common areas.
We hope to see you soon in one of our hotels.
