We stayed at the hotel for summer vacation and it was half board included. We expected nice meals every day and Maria who is manager was very nice and warm. We tasted traditional greek foods made with fresh organic ingredients and it was very comfortable like our home. You could feel special feeling because it is very local. We had very fun and spent memorable days there. We already miss there. I wish i could be there again. I absolutely recommend this hotel !

Me and my fiancé travelled to stay for our first time in Crete and could not have been more pleased with the quality of accommodation on offer at Balsamico. We were warmly welcomed by Maria on arrival and processed quickly through check in to our amazing room with hot tub on the terrace. Everything was spotlessly clean and modern in the room, there was even a drinks fridge for keeping bottled water and other drinks. Covid protocols are strictly followed by all the staff and there is plenty of space around the pool to relax (most of the time not very busy at all). The breakfast each morning offered lots of variety and was always delicious. Nothing was too much trouble for Maria or the rest of her family who were always on hand for any advice about the local area, serving a nice drink from the bar or just having a chat! Balsamico is a short walk (less than 5 mins) from Old Chersonisos village square which has lots of bars/restaurants and shops, another good advantage being so close to these. I’d highly recommend to couples who like a very relaxed and warm atmosphere!

We can absolutely recommend this hotel. Many thanks for everything. Very clean, great food, incredibly nice hosts. It was wonderful and we will definitely be back. Also the room with the outdoor whirlpool was very nice. If you are looking for a nice place to chillout and explore the island - book this! ;)

After spending 5 nights in Sisi (Vasia Resort and Spa 5 Star) and 2 nights in Hersonissos (Dorian Boutique Apartments) After reading the reviews, We booked 5 nights at Balsamico. This place is amazing. The rooms are exactly as described. The Hostess (Maria) is great, Nickos the Barman is a total gentleman, always smiling and really does the hotel proud, you can tell he loves what he does. My only very slight niggle is the hair dryer. Not the easiest thing to use! I’d suggest you bring your own. Although we booked 5 nights, we actually stayed 7. If you’re looking to visit Hersonissos Old Town I would highly recommend this Hotel. You will not be disappointed. We will be back 😘

We arrived very late at about 11.30 in the evening and Maria the extremely friendly owner was waiting for us with a very warm welcome. The hotel is fairly small but has lots of character, the rooms are all slightly different with a boutique style and kept spotlessly clean. There is a small bar area around the adequate pool where you can have drinks, breakfast or an evening meal. A car is preferable if you want to explore the island, but a five minute walk will take you to the Old Hersonissos Square which has some great restaurants (don't miss Greek night on a Monday) or there are two other small villages within a twenty minute walk. the beach is a good forty minute trek away. We had a very relaxing week and Maria and all her staff could not have been more helpful and friendly, we will definitely return. Thanks again Maria and also for making a fuss of my 82yr old father in law Mr Harrison xx

We went to stay at the Balsamico suites after the hotel we were originally staying in for 11 nights had overbooked. We stayed at Balsamico for 4 nights and we are so glad we did. It's a smaller hotel, but not too small. It's personable without being too much. It's nice and relaxed and the rooms are decorated well. The local village (old hersonnisos) has lots of nice restaurants serving good Greek food. We didn't have a bad meal. The beach is about 40 minutes to walk to. There are 2 other smaller villages nearby to old hersonnisos that you can walk to in 15-20 minutes which gives you other options. All in all a great stay.

I cannot express how wonderful this hotel is! From the staff to the rooms and the food! Fantastic! You will need a car if you want to get to the beach or visit the island! But if you want quiet, relaxing and recharging this is the place! Thank you so much Maria for a wonderful time!! X

We have visited the village before and a reason to choose the Balsamico suites was that that we wanted space to sit outdoors and to have access to a pool area. We had a warm welcome and we really liked the fact that Maria the owner was so vivacious, warm and friendly. The exterior of the buildings are very attractive and the suite we were allocated was beyond expectations. it was very roomy with a lovely balcony area and was so easy to relax in. The bed was very comfortable with good quality bed linen. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis but its possible to have a three course evening meal cooked by Maria's husband if a day's notice is given. We found breakfast to be a friendly occasion which isn't often possible in a big hotel. The ommeletes are very good. We would cerrtainly stay here again. We like to hire a car on holiday and there is private parking available.
