I've stayed in Cloud Nine several times while tripping around Bengal, and for my money it is the best accommodation in the Darjeeling/Kalimpong hills. A relaxed little hotel that completely fits with the chilled-out Kalimpong vibe, it has been tastefully decorated by musician, painter and Beatles fan Binod, whose beautiful oil paintings of the Himalayas adorn the restaurant and communal... We loved our stay in Cloud Nine. It was pre booked because it was the travel season and we feared for unavailability. Beautifully decorated inside and well maintained. Friendly and cooperative staffs. The cook is really skilled, we had our meals and breakfast within the hotel itself.

Not the best hotel in town, certainly not the most modern, but this place has bags of charm and the most accommodating owner I have ever met; just mention that you know some Beatles songs and he will get out the songbook and guitar and join in. Perched at the edge of town it is just a short distance up... More

If you are in Kalimpong, then you have to be in Cloud 9 !!! Cloud 9 ---- perhaps this is THE place you'd like to stay, if you want to really catch the spirit of Kalimpong, aka Darjeeling Hills !!!! You will be washed ashore by the Hill culture. The food is simply brilliant, the roasted pork is just too... More

We stayed at Cloud 9 as a family in May...we had booked 2 rooms, and found the place nice , cozy and comfortable. Binod daju is a very good host, and the food was good. There are only 5 rooms in this quaint place, and we had the best rooms in the hotel.

To be fair, it's been several years since my husband and I stayed at Cloud 9. We were there in the off-season, so I believe we had the whole guest house to ourselves. The room was clean and very comfortable, and I remember the food being delicious. But the highlight of our stay was the owner, Binod, who is a... More

Good value for the money. Rooms were clean with big picture windows and views of the mountains. The food was also good and budget-friendly. Overall, my stay was enjoyable, though the owner of the place was a bit odd and not a very warm guy.
