Nestled near the lake shore, The Lodge At Geneva On The Lake is celebrated by guests for its spacious and clean rooms, though the value and housekeeping have drawn some criticism. Its prime location is a stone's throw from natural attractions and boasts a variety of on-site amenities, despite occasional operational shortcomings. The resort-like atmosphere, complete with scenic views and a vibrant music scene, is a highlight for visitors. However, the service quality has received mixed reviews, and additional costs have led some to question the pricing.

Fantastiic from check in to check out. Stayed over on New Year's Eve and didn't have a single frustration with the stay. Staff was friendly and helpful at the desk, in the restaurant, and housekeeping as well. The room was perfectly clean, beds more comfortable than most hotels. No need to call for additional blankets, pillows, towels. Starbucks Keurig in room. The food in the restaurant was unbelievable. Dinner on New Year's was fantastic, the breakfast buffet equally so. Barb, the restaurant manager, went above and beyond to get us a reservation at the last minute. She was even helpful on the phone before check-in; told me to find her at the host stand and she'd take care of us. Which is exactly what she did. The bartender and servers were fun and gracious. We'll come back this summer with the kids. Great stay.

It is a bit of a challenge knowing how to judge a place in the days of Covid19. While some services have been curtailed, we did not feel anything seriously detracted from our satisfaction. The said curtailment involved removal of a lot of the items one would expect to have in the room and reduction in housekeeping services. However, we found that staff was always able and ready to accommodate our requests e.g. replenishment of our Keurig cups, explanation of TV channels available (since the directory was one of those items that had been removed). Our guest room was very nice, though not special. Bathroom was fitted out very well with a nice selection of amenities. The real draw is the view of the lake, the numerous comfortable Adirondacks placed around the grounds where one could sit and watch the stunning sunsets or read your book, the proximity of the bike and walking path leading to the Marina and park beach to the west and 'The Strip" to the east. I think prices seemed a bit high (about $500 for two nights in a room with its own patio) but to be frank I have not stayed in hotels in the US very often lately so do not have much basis for comparison. Parking is more than adequate, just a few yards from the main entrance, and the car can stand for 10 minutes right at the front for loading or unloading. There are also carts and other baggage carrying devices for one's use.

Just a stones throw away from downtown Cleveland (one hour), this resort is a beautiful place to stay with family or friends. Rent one of the two bedroom cabins right on the water and enjoy the fire pit in the evenings. The restaurant on site had excellent food. A couple issues with the cabin, otherwise it would have a five star review. The cabin probably could use some updating. Also there was no stove or oven for cooking. The refrigerator was just a mini refrigerator and did not really hold much. It might be a good idea to bring coolers and ice if you are heading there by car. There was a gas grill next to the cabin.

The town itself was primarily a ghost town, sadly - many of the places were either closed or shut down permanently. If you missed the state fair this year, the main strip is definitely a place to go for gyros, donuts, loaded fries, waffles, fresh lemonade, and other fair food!!

NOW - With the pandemic going on, we would have expected the place to be much, much cleaner than it was. It seemed like cleaning was rushed, and things like light switches and areas around door handles etc. we’re not cleaned properly. You could see smudge marks on the drawers, the appliances, and things like the tissue holder in the bathroom. There were stains on the bedroom carpet. The back of the bathroom toilet seat wasn’t clean either...unfortunately...

On the bright side, the staff was super kind and responsive, and all guests abided by the mask requirement when indoors. The pool was a bit crowded - but we were able to secure a couple of seats to relax and enjoy the beautiful day. Bring your own beach towels because the beach towels provided at the front desk were tiny. Photos are of the property surroundings and “town”.

Writing reviews during the Covid time is difficult and that’s probably why a 3. We booked two of the cottages which are $500 a night (they charge 1st night at reservation) & couldn’t get the AAA discount to work online so the front desk did apply to both nights at check in & their front desk was excellent. But they tout all the extra time they are taking for cleaning & sanitizing but I was surprised that our room was average. The carpets & couch seem very used and we had an extra microwave which just hot in the way. They do leave fresh towels in a bag outside but they clearly tell you they won’t do any other cleaning while you are there not even the trash. The best part is the location, the fire pits, the views, kids loved the pool & playground & we also rented a golf cart which helps with trips downtown $130 for 24 hours through the lodge. Though the cabins would be pristine for the price.

My wife and I stayed here the last week in April 4/27 - 28. We were only going to stay one night but enjoyed the cottage enough to want to stay an additional night. We stayed in what they call the premium cottage. They have the best lake views. You can watch the sunset over Lake erie from the rockers on the front porch. The cottage itself was nicely accommodated with a kitchenette that was fully supplied with pots pans dishes silverware, Coffee maker, dishwasher, and a small fridge. Nicely furnished living area with cable TV in all the rooms. The bedrooms were very comfortable.

There is a community gas fire pit and grills are placed around the cottages for everyone's use.

Because this was considered the off-season alot of things were closed on Monday and Tuesdays. That included the lodges restaurant. So depending what time of the year you go you may want to verify the hours on anyplace you would like to visit.

The lodge is located next to the geneva state park. There is a trail from the lodge to the park. The park itself has a boat launch and marina. There is a small beach and other walking trails.

Take the trail in the other direction and you can walk to the main drag of Geneva on the lake. A small tourist town. Again we were here in the off-season so nothing was open so I will reserve judgment on another visit.

Also, if you're not familiar with the area. It surrounded by some excellent wineries.

We will definitely be back.

We stayed at The Lodge for a weekend while attending a swim meet at Spire Institute. The room (queen suite) was beautiful and huge, with a separate kitchen and living room. The layout of the room made it easy for everyone to get ready in the morning and allowed the night owls to stay awake without disturbing those who were sleeping. The restaurant in the hotel is excellent. The hostess went out of her way to accommodate our party of 14 on a busy Saturday night, opening up a private banquet room so that we could eat together as a team. The food and the service were both excellent. We will be back!

We have stayed at GOTL for many years. The lodge each year gets worse. This will be our last trip here. Not clean, coffee grinds in drawers, couldn’t use any drawers, room was unclean and porch was very dirty. Sunflower seeds in or bathroom, Screen door was broken and unusable. The towel rack was broken off the wall.
We booked two adjoining rooms to assist our mother, but that didn’t occur even though we booked in advance.
There is major construction that is 4 feet from our back door. The staff advised it would be done by our visit, but isn’t even close. So rather than views of the lake, I have to look at multiple chain link fences, 2 excavators and a bobcat right out my door.
The pool area is a mess and questionably unsafe. There is a giant hole that is 3 ft deep, that exposes electric conduit, and is secured by an orange garden fence. There is also a smell of sewage at night. Apparently peak tourist season is the time to do all your renovations.
We were advised our only food options at the hotel was a $30 per person buffet. No regular menu, no food at pool, so for my young kids and family I would have to spend $200 per meal to eat here. WiFi is terrible, front desk said it was because there were a lot of people staying here. Hard to believe a hotel can’t accommodate wireless WiFi to the point that my phone doesn’t work in this day in time. Over priced, lacks accommodations, badly needs room updates and cleaning.
I heard the state parks for Ohio is taking it over, hopefully they can resurrect this place. Take your $300 per night and stay somewhere else.

Visiting the area I was born in for my Birthday. The lodge looked very nice they did say the pool area was under construction but I certainly didn’t expect a pool room to have a chain link fence with our view a back hoe and another large piece of equipment. At $300 a night experience was horrible, they don’t clean rooms until guest check out, if you need something go to the desk. Most unfriendly staff I have ever experienced and I travel a lot. We arrived at 3 to the two front people discussing another guest and how horrible they were. Our room wasn’t ready so they said they would text me when it was, glad I didn’t wait as 3 days later still haven’t received a text. Definitely not worth the price plus I was put in a handicapped room which I didn’t request nor was I told or asked if acceptable.Look elsewhere!

We stayed at one of the cottages with friends - it seemed almost brand new- very clean, modern features, comfortable bed and furniture, great view of the lake, and relaxing rockers on front porch. Breakfast at the lodge was delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful. Took the wine shuttle with Frank, who was very knowledgeable about the area and made great suggestions based on our interests. Highly recommended!

We stayed 2 nights here so that we could take the shuttle tour of area vineyards. In late November, it was well worth the cost for our poolside room.

Our room was comfy and well appointed. I like how they have the European style shower with shampoo, conditioner and body wash in pump dispensers dso that you're not using those tiny bottles. The staff we ideally friendly and helpful. The lake views are great.

The one downside of this say was that their internet wireless was a bit sketchy occasionally.

I understand that during peak season the rooms go for four or five times what we paid for late November--your calculationabout ifthat's worth it.

As for their shuttle tour of regional wineries, our driver4, Don, knew what was good and showed us a fine time. Highly recommended!
