The OSU campus is slow and relaxed during the Summer, and The Blackwell is an ideal location from which to appreciate it. Since we are still in the pandemic, the hotel is operating without many of its usual amenities , but the staff is helpful, friendly, and welcoming.
Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Room was well equipped, clean and spacious. Will be coming back. Parking is $25 but that is for your entire stay with continuous access 24/7. Quick walk or drive to stores if needed. Price range is cheaper than most 4 star hotels in the area.
Stayed here for a weekend while my teenage daughter participated in a workshop at the Shottenstein Center (which is within walking distance). It is practical and conveniently located to campus. The hotel and rooms are spotless and staff was friendly. And I love that they have lobby coffee service!
Wonderful Hotel, the student staff were attentive and very professional. The rooms were clean and well appointed. My only negative was the bed was too high for me, I had to move a chair to use to get in and out of the bed. I will absolutely stay here on my next visit.
When you arrive, before you unpack, check the air conditioning controls thoroughly. Have them move you to a new room if it does not work, their ability to fix the system is poor. I visited before food service was available, be prepared to walk outside for breakfast; I suggest asking if food service at hotel is restored.
