I’m still trying to process our experience at the Westin. Our sheets had urine stains on them, the toilet had poop stains, and the shower was moldy. To make matters worse the hotel didn’t seem to care…someone brought us new sheets, threw them on the floor, and said “I’m not allowed to enter rooms”. They then walked out leaving us to clean our own hotel room. The next morning the hotel staff said “we have no other rooms available but they could offer us cleaning supply’s”. Obviously we checked out. While waiting in line to check out the front desk offered the cis white straight middle aged couple a “complimentary high floor suite upgrade”. Honestly someone needs to call the health department on this hotel!!!! Do not stay here!!!
Good service is so hard to come by these days, which made the absolutely great service at the Westin in Cleveland that much more impressive. Quick, efficient and friendly. The room was well appointed, clean and spacious. The hotel is conveniently located -- just a short walk from the stadium and the arena. The hotel's facilities were also top notch. I will definitely stay at this hotel again if I have reason to be back in Cleveland.
It makes me sad to write this review. For the past 7 years I have been staying regularly at the Westin Cleveland Downtown where I travel 3-4 times per year for business. Last week I stayed there and was incredibly disappointed
We did a stopover on our way to Toronto last week. The property is very well located, clean, spacious and staffed with excellent human beings. A warm welcome followed by an excellent room with a gorgeous view of the lake. The bar area was spacious and the hotel was overall pleasant, quiet and with wonderful bedding. Nice work Westin!
Adequate or acceptable are two words that describe both this property and my stay. The Marriott website places the Westin in their ‘premium’ category which does not seem consistent with my experience. The hotel is located downtown, easy to find, and close to many cheaper parking options if you opt not to use the provided valet service. Despite using mobile check-in, I had a longer than normal check-in process at the front desk. At one point, the staff member asked what time I would check out. This is the first time I have been asked this question at a Marriott property. I am sure there was a reason, but my perception was they are in a hurry to get you out of there. The room on the 20th floor had a pleasant view of Lake Erie, which was the room’s best feature. Everything in the room, especially the bed, seemed word and dated, well past life expectancy. I do not think it is an exaggeration to say I have seen better and more comfortable beds at budget hotels. The only common areas I used were the lobby and elevators. The lobby is quite loud at check-in. The elevators were in desperate need of cleaning. The first elevator I used shook and sounded as though it was falling apart. I will be visiting Cleveland on a regular basis but unfortunately, would only stay at this property as a last resort.…
My stay wasn't what I would have expected from a Westin. I prepaid for the stay and included breakfast in the rate, I need to explain this and show confirmation at check-in. The room had food in the refrigerator from the previous occupant. Lastly, worst of all, I used the valet service to park my car and the valet driver was involved in an accident. This had a significant delay to my departure because I needed to go to the district police station to fill out a report with limited details provided by the valet company, with no representation from the Westin other than an a general email address of Westin Security office. Very disappointed.
Four-day stay; no housekeeping despite repeated requests and promises from manager du jour. If you're attending a trade show or conference, stay somewhere else. Drury. Hampton Inn etc. These people at Westin KNEW the didn't have enough staff to handle reservations; yet they continued to sell rooms at regular prices without discounting for no housekeeping.
I’m giving Jalon Dawson and Maya McLaughin a standing ovation. Tonight I was CONVINCED my purse was taken-it gets worse-by a staff member. I could not be more ashamed. During my panic attack, Jalon and Maya remained calm and professional, but empathetic. Always in a hurry, I was sure-100% positive where I’d left it. I was wrong, and they found it. Not only did I waist their time-, feet from the front desk I paced like a caged tiger. A crazy caged tiger. People are good and I need to take a breath and chill. Jake, also a doll was busy checking in guests while Maya and Jalon had to deal with my annoying, unfounded drama. Five Stars…at least. And, thank you, spd
The reception staff were really lovely but the overall trip was marred by the complete lack of housekeeping. Despite being asked directly on check in about housekeeping (I asked for every other day), they actually never came. Definitely expected more from a Westin. We weren't asked about our stay at check out so I took that as a sign that they already know there's a problem!
We stayed at the Westin Downtown Cleveland for a concert we were going to at First Energy Stadium. The hotel is beautiful! Staff is very helpful. The room was clean and well appointed. Our only hiccup was checking in. We had to wait 2 hours after arriving to get a room. However, overall we had a wonderful time. I would highly recommend this hotel!!
