We have stayed at this property many times and typically are quite satisfied. Not so recently. As we were traveling with family we requested the upgrade available through our platinum status. We understand that is not something guaranteed but in the past it was happily extended. On arrival we were told (by the woman who had reached out to us the week before arrival and promised to do everything to make our stay special) that we could not get one because there were no available suites and the hotel was “at capacity.” The problem is we checked the website right before arriving (and again in our room to be sure) and there were multiple available suites just like what we had been granted in the past and every room type was available. The property was not near capacity. If they don’t want to give us a perk just say so but it is not okay to lie about the reason just because it is extra effort to make the switch on arrival. (Nor did she address any of the other things we put in our pre-arrival response.). The room we were put in was not impressive. Bathroom fixtures had rust stains. One of the beds was sagging. The amenities had been changed out to a much lower quality product. Not enough glasses, towels or robes. We nonetheless did our typical splurge and ordered room service. While it arrived promptly and the person bringing it was perfectly charming, the food was nearly inedible. None of us wanted to or did finish our dinner. Also, throughout the evening and while trying to sleep, we could hear our neighbors who weren’t being rambunctious but the walls were thin and typically these rooms do afford privacy. We do want to give a shout out to the folks working valet as they were, as always, wonderful but everything else was mediocre at best. When we got the post-stay survey and expressed our concerns, we got a “we’ll pass it on to the appropriate people” with zero actual follow up. One stays at a Ritz to feel pampered and at their price point that is a reasonable expectation. Not even close on the last visit.

Hotel's Favorite
I used to believe that a hotel was good when it was like a quality umpire or referee - you knew they were good because they didn't stand out in a negative way. Basically, if a hotel didn't cause any stress that interfered with a nice trip, I was happy. What I have come to realize, from the example of properties like the Ritz Carlton Cleveland, is that a great hotel can itself be the destination. Like properties of its ilk, the hotel is beautifully laid out, thoughtfully appointed, and centrally located. What separates the Ritz Carlton Cleveland from its contemporaries is the friendly, reliable, motivated service demonstrated by the staff. From the time we checked in, to our varied requests, to the time of our departure, everyone at the Ritz was cordial and welcoming and genuinely sought to make our stay outstanding - despite being sold out the first evening. As an aside, when a small issue occurred related to the capacity and busyness, the issue was addressed quickly and to our complete satisfaction. I must specifically mention Faith from the front desk team who handled our check-in and requests with professionalism and kindness. My family even commented after we checked out how great Faith was. I'm sure the Ritz values her contributions. I'd also like to mention Devin, who was similarly kind and helpful. We came to Cleveland for some of the attractions and activities, and they were terrific, but I will always remember this trip to Cleveland for the Ritz and its outstanding team members.

We were visiting for a rowing regatta for my daughter and could not have had a better stay. Faith at the front desk helped us before check-in with dining reservations, left a wonderful “good luck” note for our daughter and introduced herself, personally, at check-in. She is such an amazing asset to this hotel. We had a wonderful room with views of the river to one side and the lake to the other. I was even able to watch part of the regatta from our room window. Room was immaculately clean, well appointed and the beds were very comfortable. The stand out at this Ritz is their staff, everyone from the front desk, to the valet and bellman, and even Brian at the restaurant, who went out of his way to make special coffee drinks for us, are wonderful!

Absolutely loved our stay at the Ritz Carlton in Cleveland. All of the hotel staff that we came across during our stay were so helpful and kind. Every one of them. Our room was great, loved the free morning coffee near the front desk and the gym had lots of equipment. Although, the reason for the 4 out of 5 is because of the gym: at least one of the Peloton bikes wasn't working properly, the gym and equipment need some cleaning - you can see dried sweat on almost every piece of cardio and all of the "wipes" containers were empty, there was no conditioner in the shower, some of the weights, etc. were left in random spots. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at this hotel - 5 stars for sure for all of the employees staff - they were amazing!!

We stayed at the Ritz Carlton on a free night plus points. (Love that option Marriott) We were upgraded to an Executive suite. As Titanium Elite, it was much appreciated. The room was a bit worn with peeling wall paper and scuffs on the wall. There were a couple miscues with the valet, housekeeping and room service. With the Ritz Carlton, we expect everything to be perfect.

Made reservation months in advance. Inquired about "CLUB". Told that the club would be back by June 1. Arrived to find "no club." Staffing issues. Asked about suitable place to walk service dog. As handicapped seniors were given directions to walk thru a mall and over several more blocks to get outside. Probably half a mile each way. OUTRAGEOUS. Luckily valets were able to point out a nice area one block away. Rooms are typical RC. Beds are always over the top but without the club was not worth the effort to get there. Super pricey and not worth the expense.

I was in town for business in July and brought my wife to join me. Unfortunately, we got sick which ruined our trip BUT The Ritz went above and beyond and took such amazing care of us. My wife and I are fortunate to travel the world and stay at amazing places. This was as good as we have ever been treated. This year we have been to Raffles Dubai, Peninsula Chicago and Komaneka in Bali and they exceeded the rest with their hospitality. Based on availability and our circumstances and being a Titanium for Life member they moved us to a suite 2 days into our stay. They made soup especially for my wife, took care of our laundry and could not have been more professional and kind. The rooms were beautiful…especially the suite! The food was great and the valet was efficient and kind as well. A very special shout out to Carly at the front desk, who was a sweetheart and took amazing care of us. Jennifer, Samantha and Brian in the restaurant couldn’t do enough, Faith at the front desk and Ebony and Modupe in housekeeping helped us with our laundry immediately. We are not high maintenance, but were on this trip and rather than behave annoyed with us, they were truly all exceptional. Thanks for making what turned out to be a tricky trip due to health so easy and comfortable.

The Ritz-Carlton Cleveland is truly an awesome hotel. If your blue and you don't know where to stay why don't you go where fashion sits, putting on the Ritz. Our one night stay stared with a greeting at the entrance and the helpful staff grabbing our luggage and our car. We were escorted upstairs to check in. Front desk staff and concierge were very helpful and energetic. They informed us that our room was not ready (we checked in at 9AM), so we weren't expecting it to be ready on a Sunday morning. We stored our luggage and took off for Progressive Field for the Yankees-Guardians game. The hotel is within walking distance of the ballpark as well as the home of the Cavaliers. On our way, the front desk staff gave us a call and let us know our room was ready, a nice touch. We returned after the game and were given our keys. We had a 2 queen bed room. Room was very clean and comfortable, beds were heavenly and the bathroom spacious, modern (marble floor). The hotel is attached to a casino and indoor mall, which was a nice surprise and we went to the casino for dinner, gambling. In the morning, we had breakfast in the hotel's restaurant, great service, food. The staff did their best despite a power outage occurring during our meal. Checkout was smooth. Definitely worth a stay if your in Cleveland.

I decided to give the Ritz a try for a planned leisure trip to Cleveland. As most Ritz properties, the hotel looks good but there are many details that place this behind lower tier hotels in the area. The front desk claimed we had been "upgraded" to a better room on the 7th floor - coincidentally the same floor used for conference rooms. The room itself was nice, comfortable bedding but the shower was tiny and the bathroom illogically laid out. There was an in-room coffee service but it difficult to get to and use (was on a slide-out tray at a low level in a cabinet). No refrigerator in the room. Grossly overpriced drinks at the bar - at least double the nicer restaurants in the area. No coffee available on the main floor - again, it drove us toward the ludicrously priced bar/restaurant service. Overall, on this three week "road trip" I had better experiences at both Cobblestone and Hilton Garden Inn properties.

Excellent customer service, top notch rooms, clean bathrooms, exceptional dine in room service. The customer service from the restaurant inside the hotel was awesome. Brian our server is great at his job, full of information and always checked on us and our needs. All in all excellent night stay and again exceptional customer service. Highly recommend this hotel.
