My wife and I arrived 6/2/21 at the Ritz for a short stay to see a friend. We were greeted by a non Ritz valet, who asked if we were checking in, but apparently only to tag the car. This is different from a typical experience where the valet would inform the front desk that you're coming to check in. Instead we were pointed to the elavators and we were off. The lobby is very nice, it was just empty when we arrived. There was a single person at the front desk Alice (who's name tag said Janice) Being a Bonvoy platinum I asked about an upgrade which seemingly totally threw off the lady checking us in. As often happens (I'm not a titanium) she said there were no rooms eligible for an upgrade. When I asked about paying for an upgrade (as I often do) she seemed completely flummoxed. Alice told us the hotel was full even though I showed her that basically every type of room was still available to be booked for that night. She said that in order to do that we would have to cancel our reservation and book a new one. Not only that, but there wasn't a single living soul in the lobby, it made no sense to say it was all booked. She (Alice) told us that she would keep looking for an upgrade and that we shouldn't unpack because she was going to call us shortly. That never happened, never heard from her again. The rooms was nicely appointed an obviously redone recently. One of the first things I do when I check in is to make some coffee. They had the usual Nespresso maching, but oddly only gave us 2 regular pods even though every other Ritz gives you 9-12. Bed and sheets were typical. Bathroom was small but very well appointed. I appreciated the lighted shaving mirror. The minibar was not stocked, although the hotel had nicely left a few snack and some waters on ice. I thought this was a really nice touch. We did have a large mysterious brown stain on the carpet. I thought coffee maybe but my wife said she was pretty sure it was blood. I ordered some room service in between my meetings. The food was very high quality, arrived quickly and was overall really good. I was a little upset that even after asking the front desk to have the room service cart removed it was still there when I returned from dinner. I also thought it was strange that there was no turn down service. The extra pillows I asked for were just piled on the bed. Later in the evening I ordered some dessert via Doordash. When it arrived the front desk called telling me I could come pick it up anytime I wanted. Only when I asked "really?" did they offer to bring it. these are the types of services that just happen at other Ritz properties. No asking required Overall this seems like a really beautiful hotel that is short staffed. It doesn't have the feel of a Ritz. Our travel agent had advised us that we should avoid the Ritz properties now because of service cutbacks due to Covid. We were still able to have a wonderful experience at the Ritz in Amelia Island, but it seems in Cleveland like they have cut back a bit too much. That being said, on my next visit I will likely choose another property.

We were headed to Indiana to pick up our son at college and booked the Ritz as a midway stopping point. Guest Services manager Michelle T. contacted us before our arrival to see if we needed anything and told that we were upgraded to a corner suite. The room was beautiful, with great views and a second bathroom. We ordered a nice charcuterie board from room service. The restaurant was closed, but we were able to have dinner at Morton's, which is connected to the hotel. We liked it so much that we booked another night on the way back east and had another great experience. Valets, front desk, and room service staff were all top notch. Thank you to Michelle T and the rest of the staff for breaking up 20 hours of driving with great service.

Stayed for one night in the "Jr. Presidential Suite" and was blown away by the beauty of the room. Plenty of room to unwind, nice table for eating, beautiful bathrooms, great views and unbeatable service! 5 stars! I want to give a big shout out and thank you to several staff members for making our stay so amazing! Ron Ok, (sales coordinator of Ritz Cleveland) did an amazing job at helping coordinate our stay. He and other staff members went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing stay! Hallie at the reception desk was super polite, professional and helpful. Duran the bellman noticed I had a bouquet of roses in a large class vase that my wife would have to keep on her lap for our 2 hour drive home, when he met us downstairs at the valet with our luggage he had found a box for the roses and even placed tissue paper inside to help stabilize it for transport. The kitchen staff made amazing food for us. The engineer immediately came down to the gym to help assist me with getting the steam shower working (had been turned off due to covid when gym was closed). Last but not least the housekeeping staff did an amazing job at keeping us stocked with anything and everything we needed for our stay. Will most certainly be returning and recommending to friends and family.

We spent one night at the Ritz to break up an 1100 mile drive. One of the assistant managers, Michelle T, went over and above to help make our stay really special. We truly felt valued as platinum members. Indeed, everyone with whom we interacted with, from valet to bell service to room service was just top notch. And our room was impeccably clean. All in all, a wonderful experience. We will return.

Due to COVID everything is closed. However, no where do they tell you that when you book. Restaurant closed. Spa closed. Gym closed. Bar closed. Limited room service open until 10pm. Honor bar not stocked. Your menu is two sheets of B/W copies. Yet the rate didn’t seem to reflect the fact that this hotel has few services. Over $400 night all in. Also, why is the restaurant closed if all the other restaurants in the city are open? Why can they clean your room, bring room service, change your towels but not stock the fridge? Even if all these services were available it doesn’t feel like a Ritz Carlton. More like a nice but basic four star business hotel. For under half their rate you can find that elsewhere in Cleveland. Look elsewhere if you are expecting any sort of Ritz wow factor.
