Let me preface by saying that I am a regular at a Kimpton Hotel called the Van Zandt (in Austin, TX). I have rarely been to such a classy hotel that has perfect service, perfect rooms & restaurants....I just love it. Naturally, I expected a similar service at this hotel but didn't receive anything close to it. We arrived at the hotel and pulled over at a very busy street and waited for the valet to take our vehicle. After 15-20 minutes of sitting in the car with an infant, I invited my S.O. to go inside and check in with my license and card so that we weren't wasting too much time for nothing. We just came off a 5-hour connecting flight with our infant (first trip) and were ready to just sit down. She went inside, checked in and sat there for another 15 minutes before calling and asking where I was. STILL sitting outside waiting for the valet...now with a screaming infant. Many cars came and went looking for service and no valet was to be found anywhere. There was only space for two vehicles to park in front of the hotel, myself and another vehicle just sat there waiting. At about the 45-minute mark, a valet finally approached me and asked if I needed anything. I obliged by offering my car keys...he asked me to wait for a moment, and came back about 5 minutes later and took the car. I finally notice when getting out of the car that it costs another $38 to park my car there for one night (plus tip). Cool - not something I've paid at any other Kimpton hotel, but the cost of my room just went up significantly - a mistake perhaps I should have caught, but most other hotels didn't charge for this. I am now nearly an hour later able to enter the hotel, and had to go to the front desk to verify my identity as the hotel room is in my name, not my SO and they would not check her in without seeing me first (I get it, identity & credit card theft and all....but damn you kept me outside for an hour. Come outside and see my face if needed). We get up to the room and it is nice, but unimpressive. I had a wonderful view of an air conditioner, a lamp that said "NO". Top it off with being one of the smaller rooms I've ever stayed in before. The only thing overly nice about the rooms was the artwork & the bedding. The housekeeping crews were super friendly to us and our baby, and they did a wonderful job cleaning up. Many stopped us in the hallway to chat. Most were friendlier than the people at the front desk at our stay. Quite unexpectedly, they were the highlight of our stay. There is a CVS right around the corner from this hotel that is very useful, not the best people around at night but it was helpful to be able to go buy a bottle of wine and take it back to the hotel. The next morning I woke up at 9AM, took a shower and got my kid ready for the day. I walk downstairs at 10am and asked where I could find a cup of coffee. Front desk response "coffee is over at 10am". Are you kidding me? I paid nearly $200 for a hotel room and I can't even get a cup of coffee? The motel 8 I stayed at had 24/7 coffee service in the lobby. No coffee makers in the room either, guess I'll just wait an hour for the valet so I can drive somewhere. What the hell guys? There was absolutely nothing at all special about the service here. Compared to other Kimpton hotels, this was a really, really big disappointment for us. While not a BAD place, it is not at all worth the money with so many other options in the area that are competitively priced.

Visited Cleveland with a family group for a wedding and stayed at the Kimpton Schofield Hotel at the end of August. The rooms are very comfortable with large bathrooms and amazingly comfortable beds!! The staff are very helpful and eager to help with any questions.

Good downtown location. Doormen were solid. Room was spacious and always cleaned well. There is a supermarket across the street for snacks. This would be a good place to stay for a game but I was here on business. Lower floor facing the 9 hotel across the street may be noisy in the mornings.

What a surprise. Beautiful and intriguing building, conveniently located to many attractions in downtown Cleveland. Although I suppose they cater to business travelers, we did not seem out of place. Service was friendly, attentive, and personal. We'll definitely come back.

Had much excitement about staying here. Some of the people at valet are simply not nice. Some are curt and short with you. They valet my rental and it came back completely filthy. Not sure where it was parked. As a member of American Express collection hotels you receive a 100 dollar amenity credit. Always check your walk out statement as they did not credit me until I pointed out the error. The room service never came during our overnight stay and clean the room. After a full day out on the town I was looking forward to a tidy bed and room. They do give you a glass of wine at happy hour and coffee in the morning. Overall it is in a good location yet needs tweaking.
