    Romantic retreat
Wonderful Inn located in secluded area of Southeast Ohio for quick overnight to celebrate Anniversary and Birthdays. Quaint location with opportunities for hiking, biking and relaxation. We reserved a jacuzzi room which provided additional ambience for occasion and enjoyed hot dogs and ice cream at Mom and Dads Dairy Bar and Grill a short distance from Inn. Weather didn't allow us to take advantage of biking but we will definitely be back in future to do that since there is a bike trail right outside Inn. For History Buffs make sure you check out the Civil War history artifacts and local history items on display in the Inn lobby and on second floor. Good variety of breakfast items provided in morning and the staff went above and beyond to provide an environment that allowed for social distancing and most food items were packaged in individual wrappers for additional safety. Finally the staff went above and beyond to provide a room and common areas that exceeded our expectations for cleanliness and safety during these unsettling times. We would not hesitate to stay here again and look forward to doing so again in the near future.

Hearthstone Inn is a delightful hotel with beautiful decor that gave me the feel of one that I have stayed in Amish Country. The soft Kleenex, real hand lotion, and hand soap gave me the feel of home instead of a hotel. The continental breakfast had a super variety, great coffee blend, and the fresh fruit was delicious! Thanks! We will highly recommend the Hearthstone Inn in Cedarville, Ohio!
Thank you so very much, Mrs. D. Howdyshell, for a marvelous review! We actually designed Hearthstone Inn & Suites in 2001 to replicate much of the ambiance and tranquility found in some Holmes County, Ohio Amish hotels! As soon as a guest walks in, immediately they are met with a very relaxed feeling of "homeiness". We call this the "wow" factor, since the majority of national-brand properties are quite modern and "commercial". Since we are independent, we have much more control over our services, features, and amenities. Once again, thank you - and we wish you safe travels in your future adventures!

    Wonderful, small historical Inn
Because of COVID-19, my husband and I have not traveled since March (and we usually travel to Europe each year). Because we are at high risk, we have been reluctant to go anywhere. However, after the reviews for the Hearthstone Inn, we decided to go during the week when there would be less people. We also were drawn to the State Park. We were delighted with the Inn. All the staff were wonderful, helpful, and friendly. They seemed to be cleaning all the time, tables, etc. Our room was large, with many hugh towels etc. The shower was fantastic. Also, little things that make it pleasant like big box of tissues in the bathroom and also a small one on the night stand in the bedroom. There were two sinks, one in the bathroom and one outside, which was so handy and useful. The Inn had historical memborabilia on both the first and second floor, which was quite interesting and nicely displayed. There is a sitting room on the second floor with books available, and another room with puzzles and games. Great place, especially if you have children. We didn't but still found the place relaxing. The front porch was nice as we sat and ate outside. Downside of Cedarville is that it is a dry town and not many restaurants, but it is close to Yellow Springs. Still we were happy that we chose to stay in Cedarville than Yellow Springs. Our room was 207. Would definitely stay there again on our way south.
Thank you, Maria84, for a most wonderful review! Since our opening in 2001, we have been so very pleased at the myriad guests who have stayed with us and who later shared their very positive reviews! During these difficult "COVID-19" days, we have increased our vigilance for sanitizing and, in so doing, have assured our customers of a safe lodging experience. Unlike national hotel brands which feature large hotels and who have hundreds of transient guests each day, our small, independent property "traffic" is quite less. This also enables us to invest more time in room cleaning and sanitizing. As you noticed, we also have historical and artistic touches throughout our property, adding to guest enjoyment! Thanks again for choosing Hearthstone Inn & Suites, and we wish you safe future travels!

Absolutely loved the atmosphere and all the details/extras of the Inn. Was the cleanest hotel we have ever been to. The front desk staff was so friendly and helpful with local attractions. Nice walking path right beside hotel and the best Mexican restaurant across street! We will return!

We stayed for a long weekend for Cedarville University’s Homecoming. The hotel staff were friendly and the rooms were quiet. Had coffee available early and the hotel has a lot of historical items to look at. We also bought a few items from the gift shop. We would definitely stay here again.

We booked the entire Inn for a biking weekend with friends and we couldn’t have been any happier. The service was outstanding and the rooms were clean and comfortable. They were very accommodating. We all loved the wrap around front porch to end the day relaxing. We plan to repeat the experience again next year.

Thank you SO very much, K6908XCKathyh! Our small-town, safe location, which sits alongside the Ohio-To-Erie Trail, is increasingly the "go-to" lodging place for cyclists from around the USA! It doesn't get much easier, rolling out of your custom-crafted Amish bedding, enjoying an expanded Continental Breakfast, stepping outside with your bike, and cruising right down the trail! Of course, guests should book on our official website (or call us directly) as this is the way to go for best service. Look for the words "Official Website" before you click ("AD"s are not our official site). We do hope to host you (and your group) again! Travel/ride safely, and we'll see you next time!

This is such a charming Inn! It’s just so beautiful and cozy in so many ways. It looks like it should be in the middle of the country, but it’s in the middle of town. It’s very clean and people are friendly. The decor is calming and warm feeling. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat!

We stayed overnight and found this place very refreshing. Located in the heart of Cedarville, which is a pretty small area, you are within walking distance of the coffee shop and pizza place. There are a few shops also located on the main drag. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are a little dated, but is was clean and quiet.

Hi there, Joerunjoe H! It was a pleasure to accommodate you during your recent stay! Although we are not a "bed and breakfast", we do appreciate that it felt that way to you! We are an independent country inn hotel, but unlike the national "brands", we are designed and managed at a much more personal level. We also integrate a late 19th century American decor, so we hope to remain "dated" (in that way) for quite some time! Our guests enjoy renting bikes and using the adjacent bike trail system, hiking in nearby Indian Mound Reserve park, and venturing 10 minutes (by car) to the Village of Yellow Springs. We wish you safe travels, and we hope to see you again in the future!

The Hearthstone Inn is warm and welcoming. Innkeepers Ruth and Stuart Zaharek are fun, engaging and take great efforts to ensure their guests are well taken care of. This is a great place to stay, especially if you are a bicyclist traveling the Ohio To Erie Trail. If I could, I would give the Hearthstone an extra star.

Great, great place! 400 reviews on TA and they carry 5 stars...pretty much sums it up! Spotlessly clean, super nice & very helpful people operate the hotel, very good covid style, single serve, bfst food set up in the lobby each morning, quality bath supplies, quiet location close to the Xenia & Yellow Springs area AND they offer SEATTLE's BEST brand coffee in the rooms, as well as their own personal hotel blend in the lobby...they have it all. Whether you're cycling in the area or just touring around, this is the place! My HIGHEST recommendations!!!!

Stayed here for 2 nights while antiquing in Springfield area. Highly recommend this location over the big chain hotels. A little further afield but totally worth it, and great places to explore all around. Very well maintained property. Bed was a little firm, but ok. Lots of pillows to choose from in room, soft and firm, which was nice touch. We had requested room on first floor to avoid having to take stairs to second floor (no elevator), but would do 2nd floor next time. Could hear heavy footed upstairs guests above us all the time. We had King bed room 108 and it was cleaned emmaculately. Had desk, chair and two sink areas (one in bathroom and one outside it). Also had a little fridge and coffee maker. Owners, Ruth and Stuart, were super friendly and offered great suggestions on some things to do in the area during our trip. Breakfast was expanded continental with cereal, bagels, muffins, cinammon rolls, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, heat and eat breakfast sandwiches and burritos, oatmeal, fresh fruit salad, juice and coffee. Enough to get going in the morning. Our first morning was great very quiet. Second morning was very busy as hotel had filled up so we just skipped it as there was a big crowd in the small breakfast area. We will certainly be staying at this property when traveling back to Springfield area and highly recommend it.

Thank you SO very much, wemjam, for such nice review! An interesting fact is that the Springfield hotels are about 8 minutes away from the Clark County Fairgrounds. Our hotel is a whole 18 minutes from the fairgrounds! Our new pillow-top beds are custom-manufactured by Amish craftspeople in Holmes County, Ohio and are designed for firmness with comfort. Everyone is SO different in sleeping preferences, so we ordered the middle "sweet-spot" between firm and soft. We do appreciate that you selected our independent hotel, and we wish you safe travels in the days ahead. See you next time!

From the check in to check out comfortable and clean and felt like home. We had the king jacuzzi suite and it was perfect. Don't get me wrong the decor isn't modern however it reminded me of my mother with the antiques etc. It was so clean. Safe. Quiet. Breakfast was everything you'd want. Mexican restaurant across the street was delicious. Definitely 100 % better than any hotel we've stayed at many. Petfriendly. Everything was great.

Thank you, Autumn, for the great Trip Advisor review! As you pointed out correctly, our decor is not "modern" (sterile, digital, techno), however we do provide all essential amenities including wifi and in-room USB charging. Our bike rentals set us apart, as we are located adjacent to the Ohio-to-Erie Bike Trail. Indian Mound Reserve, Clifton Gorge, and John Bryan Parks are very nearby, as is the Village of Yellow Springs. Although we really do not have antiques in our overall decor, per se, we are designed with the late 19th century in mind, which creates an "aire of relaxation" in a modern world! Ah, for quieter time! Travel safely, and see you next time!

This is a gorgeous little inn. My college-age daughters were enthralled with the picturesque decor and historical items and had a blast taking selfies. There are 24-hour snacks available by putting money in a jar—in keeping with the quaint small-town feel. The hotel contains a lovely gift shop open during regular business hours and a 24-hour lounge-type room with a large tv. It didn’t seem as if the rooms were very sound-proof, as there was a note to please be considerate with television volume. However, we did not hear anything from any other room. Staff is on-property and available during the night via phone call, but there is no overnight front desk clerk. The room was impeccably clean, although they have not transitioned to the sheet-covered bedspreads. Air-conditioning worked very well, and high-end toiletry products are in-room. Towels were luxurious and plentiful. The shower was very nice and very clean. My only complaint was due to COVID restrictions. Our week-long stay really required at least one visit inside the room for bathroom cleaning and trash removal, but it was not offered. They probably would have obliged us had we asked, as the staff is lovely and very accommodating. However, due to that bed-and-breakfast feel, a request for cleaning almost feels like an imposition on a gracious hostess. I guess that’s really a testament to how warm the proprietors are. Overall, the hotel was a perfect place for us to stay to be close to family and an excellent value. Did I mention how clean the shower was? Like squeaky clean! It seems pricey at first, but ultimately it was worth every penny!
