Hope you're not hungry at this lost highway resort because the neighboring town is about a hundred miles away in pitch darkness. If you're unlucky enough to be at the castello when the one lonely restaurant is closed CAZZO MIA you're out of luck! The...More
My wife, Ellen, and I loved our stay at the Castelleto! Our only regret was that since this was our first visit to Tuscany, we spent more time driving around to other sites than enjoying the ambiance of the Castelleto. It is very hard to...More
Unlike many of the reviews that convinced us to reserve at Casteletto de Montebenichi, we were quite disappointed when we arrived there. The hotel is situated in an extremely small, nearly deserted village which is quite far from everything. There is no café, bar nor...More
My wife and I were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and could not have selected a more appropriate or wonderfully unique venue to start our trip through central and northern Italy. The host, Marco, was charming, attentive, available, and always willing to assist your every...More
We spent two nights at this very small castle/boutique inn. It is unique in every way. The "town" where it is located is really just a cluster of small stone buildings on a hilltop, with the Castelletto in the center. The inn is beautifully restored...More

I was recommended Castelletto de Montebeneichi.. Wanted a good home base in an authentic castle -- all the modern conveniences but did not want to go to a place that is taken over by a "spa", if you know what I mean?
The only thing about this place is that it has no restaurants. How far is the osteria (I understand that it is within walking distance)? Do they serve wine there? I would want to come back from sight seeing to a nice glass of wine at dinner. We will have a car.
The other place is Castello delle Serre-- although my TA cannot recommend it because she is not familiar with it. Though it had great reviews on Tripadvisor and everywhere else.
Thank you for your help!

Thank you for your request. In fact the Castelletto has no restaurant. A good restaurant ( osteria l'Orciaia ) is located at a few (really few) steps. The restaurant serves excellent wines. Furthermore a complimentary bottle of good wine, produced by the Castelletto, will be found in any guest room.
The day off of the restaurant is Tuesday.
