Treat yourself and stay at this grand old Gem by the Beach! Kicking back in the beautifully restored living room after a day out exploring the coast and spotting the migrating whales, we couldn't be happier. Ask Steve, the friendly manager, about 'What's On' in the area, we were lucky to listen to some excellent live music in the pub... More

Port Elliot is a beautiful location, and the Beach House is in a prime spot, with views over Horseshoe bay and boomer beach. Its close to the shopping and eating strip as well. And its been beautifully and funkily restored, and has great areas indoors and out for large groups to get together to enjoy each others company and celebrate... More

PROS: Great common facilities, hardwood floors, fantastic location. Very clean restrooms. CONS: Still renovating upstairs and mens bathroom upstairs isn't open so as of now, men have to go downstairs to shower if staying upstairs, not ideal. Also no soap/shampoo available.

You can wander straight out the door and onto spectacular Horseshoe Bay. A must at dusk and dawn for amazing colour displays - pink, orange, yellow, blue. And dolphins frolicking as well! This venue is the only YHA I've ever stayed at and it's because it has the pros of a YHA mixed with the pros of a B&B or... More

This YHA guesthouse was built as the Arcadia Guest House in 1914 for holiday seekers from Adelaide. Later, it was converted to a nursing home before becoming a youth hostel. The back of the house was recently extended to accommodate more guests and has a great back garden with BBQ and deckchairs and a small car park. Room 4 was... More

this hostel is because I might not be able to get in next time. This is my most favourite YHA hostel and I've done most of them. I'll detour 1000kms just to have a few days here. The hostel was a guest house and it's been done up beautifully inside with the original features but also a beach house theme.... More

I decided to spend the night at the hostel to save myself the 1.5hr drive back up to Adelaide and I'm pretty chuffed with the decision. It was very decently priced and I actually had the room all to myself. It was very clean and well maintained and it was nicely situated a bit away from the buzz of town... More

This youth hostel has everything going for it. Set in a beautiful old heritage building, it commands wonderful views over one of the most beautiful and popular beaches in South Australia, Horseshoe Bay.
