Well 7 of us turned up at the Elliston Hotel for lunch today and there was probably 2 half decent meals out of the 7. They were all very overpriced. If there was a fisheries inspector present they would be fined for undersized fish On commenting to the staff about the poor size of his meal (whiting fillet) in relation...

We heard about the special from a novice fisherman who was also at the pier at sunset. She let us know about the pub's happy hour and $13 schnitty. I popped into the pub while my partner stayed in the car and then I told him to get out we've found dinner! $13 schnitzel (chicken or beef) usually on Friday...

When traveling up the West Coast of SA then this is a good place to stop for a meal. The food is typical Aussie pub food - not very expensive, simple dishes served in a friendly environment. When stopping we always have the fish of the day - usually locally caught and beautifully fresh. It makes for a good break...

Had three pieces of battered whiting which cooked well although the chips were cold. Has second thoughts about the salad bar limited range and looked tired. Pub itself was ok without a lot of character the beer was cold and they had some reasonable wines. The staff were friendly and there was good company

Elliston Hotel is the only place to eat in evening. We decided to give it a go. Very cold uninviting dining area. Service staff were pleasant. Ordered seafood. Whiting was a thin fillet cooked to death so as to resemble a sheet of tasteless cardboard in crumbs. Salads very uninspiring. Thought chef having a bad day so tried again. Schnitzel...

We didn't stay here but on the recommendation of the Campsite manager we went here for our evening meal. The hotel was very, very busy. Lots of locals with their families having a Friday evening out. We had the steak and salad but declined the offer of the gravy (What is it with the South Australians and their love of...

We went there twice for dinner on a recent visit and were very happy with the food. First night I had King George whiting and chips which was very nice. Fresh fish with tasty batter along with good chips and a small but nice salad bar. The next night I had beef schnitzel with Dianne sauce. A big serve and...

Located in a sleepy country town on the West Coast of South Australia approximately 160 km from Port Lincoln with spectacular coastal drives and cliffs, this little pub is ideal for a basic but tasty meal and refreshment. Decore won't win prizes but a beautiful open fire on cold nights and relaxed dining is what this Hotel is about. No...

Went here on the night we arrived in Elliston for a meal. The dining room felt more like a bowling club set up than a pub. The young girl taking orders wasn't very chatty and I'm pretty sure she didn't smile or make conversation. Meals were nice and not to badly priced... don't know if I would go there again

The Elliston Hotel has the feel of a church hall: brown brick walls, formica tables, windows too high to see through. My small battered King George Whiting fillet was perfectly fresh and beautifully cooked, and the thin-cut chips were lovely too, but at $16.50, it was a bit pricey. My kids were quite happy with their schnitzels, but none of...
