I contacted Carisbrooke Station regarding a stay for JUL 2014 and sad to say that Charles and Penny Phillpot no longer own the property. They advise that the property no longer offer farm stays or accommodation of any type. Such a shame I won't get the chance to enjoy their hospitality.

We had 2 nights here in Oct 2013. The property is in drought, so it is dry and dusty in the camp area. But we had a great time. The camping facilities are excellent - clean amenities, good hot water, communal fridge and kettle in the shearing shed that is now the camp kitchen area. The tour of the property... More

Carisbrooke is well worth the effort to get to, I say that because they initially send you on the old cork mail road which is rough! There is an alternative route which is much easier but it brings you in on the other side of the station where the owners are not able to monitor your arrival or departure. I... More

On our Heron Airlines flight to Cape York in August, one of our stopovers was with Charlie and Penny Phillott at Carisbrooke Station some 85 Kms south west of Winton. There are a few different ways of staying there, from bush camping, to your own van accommodation with showers and kitchen facilities in the shearing shed, self contained cottages and... More

.... and I cannot stress this enough; staying here and experiencing the hospitality of Charlie, Penny, Harrison and Jemima is just sublime! The station itself would be good for a week of wandering about and discovering new things around every corner without the added attraction of Lark Quarry nearby and Winton just up the road. The tracks on the station... More

The tour of Carisbrooke was certainly one of the highlights for our family on our 14 day outback adventure. From the moment that Charlie picked everyone up in Winton and commenced the drive out to Carisbrooke, he provided non stop commentary and stories about the area, his families experiences even down to what the types of trees where that we... This place was a quite of side trip from QLD coastal area (700+ km return) on our trip, but it was totally worth the long drive. We stayed in the Homestead which had a plenty room for four of us. The Homestead had a good kitchen and other required facilities were in good working condition. Naturally it was basic and... More

Our family of 5 travelled the Dinosaur Trail in July 2012 camping along the way. We wanted the outback experience for our kids and always opted to stay at station properties that offered camping facilities over the main caravan/tourist parks in town. We were so glad we came across Carisbrooke Station after a recommendation from a fellow traveller. In July,... More

We stayed 2 nights in the Homestead and had a wonderful time. The house is very basic but it had everything that we needed. It was fabulous to have so much space to spread out in after so much time spent in the car. The sunrises and sunsets were spectacular and I have never seen so many stars. It was... More

Our family were picked up in Winton by Charlie and we commenced our full day tour of Carisbrooke Station, the Dinosaur stampede and adjoining properties. What a delight Charlie was and his knowledge of the area certainly added to this special day for us. After stopping for morning tea at an old opal mine, we continued our travels around this... More
