From the moment we arrived after a long day of driving, we felt like we were treated like family. Nothing was a problem. Being a family of 5 staying during school holidays after Covid restrictions had eased to allow travel we expected to need 2 rooms. The beautiful lady owner bent over backwards to get our rooms next to each other and managed to book us into their restaurant for dinner. The rooms were wonderfully comfortable and modern. The restaurant was warm & inviting with meals that were generous and very delicious. The owners and their staff were so sweet. When we checked out, the darling lady owner wished us well and waved us goodbye like farewelling family until next time.

This is a nice motel, owners very friendly. The room was great, very clean and tidy, bed comfortable. We had dinner their as well, meal was very tasty & COVID distancing was their. There’s only one thing I find a bit hard to understand & that’s the price. We’ve stayed at a lot of motels & normally the cost for the night is for 2 people, here it was $143 for one & another $17 for the extra person. To us it would make sense to set a lower price for one person & a bit higher one for a couple.

Recently I had the pleasure to stay at the Boulder Opal motor inn at Winton in QLD. The hosts were the friendliest hosts I have ever comes across in all of my travels and stays at hotels. I was late for check in “no problems even though they were busy getting things set up for dinner”, Then I decided to stay an extra night but they were booked out due to a dunny race being held in the town the next day “no problems they actually rang around town to find me a bed and room for the next night”, again all while trying to get the restaurant organised for the nights rush. The food was outstanding, the wait staff was excellent and the meal prices were on par with any restaurant in QLD. The room was clean and comfortable for me. Highly recommended for anyone needing a comfy stay and a great feed.

We stayed 4 nights at this wonderful Motel in Winton. Helen the owner was the most hospitable Motel owner I have ever met. She made sure we had everything we needed, looked after us so we had plenty of water bottles and even offered to drive and pick us up around town as we arrived by Bus. It is a short 10 min walk into the "hub" of the town, with the Waltzing Matilda Centre (a must) just a short distance up the road on the same street. Her husband, took us to Winton Airport for our flight to Townsville with REX, couldn't ask for more. They are booked out well in advance at the moment with every-one traveling within QLD due to CV so my advice is, if you're going to Winton, book well in advance and make sure you stay at this establishment, you won't regret it. It's clean and they filter the water which comes from the bore in the ground, so you don't have that horrible sulphur smell hit you, like you do in other Hotels in town, when you turn on a tap or use the bathroom. We attended the Vision Splendid Outback Film Festival, which was great. This will be returning bigger and even better in June-July 2021, so if you plan to go to experience this amazing event, book real early!
