Quiet and relaxing. Hostess is very friendly and helpful. Couldn’t ask for a more peaceful stay. Food was delicious. The place is beautifully decorated with a working fireplace in the lounge. The whole place is tidy and clean. Will definitely be staying here on future visits.

On a spur of the moment idea my wife and I decided it was time to revisit "The Granite Belt". Having moved away from staying in motels after a couple of stays in very sub-standard motels, I went on line to search for alternatives. I would say we were very fortunate to obtain a booking for two nights at "The Loggers Rest. Both of us have undergone spinal surgery so the configuration of the bedding is an important consideration. Sharyn, owner, operator, receptionist, gardener and of course cook was able to turn one of thier fine bedrooms from a King to a Twin. The attention to detail is a hallmark of the Loggers Rest. Neiter of us could find any fault, from the overall cleanliness, to the comfort and satisfaction of the heat from the continuious burning timber fire and also to the very well prepared and tasty breakfast. The beds were very comfortable, with electric blankets and nice fluffy doonas, for what ever takes your fantsy. I would hesitate in returnig to the Loggers Rest and am happy to reccomend it to anyone either planning a stay in Stanthorpe or needing a nights accommodation while passing through. Finally a big thankyou to Sharyn and Merv for not only creating Loggers Rest but for making our few days in Stanthorpe memorable. But after reading your book about your other accommodation offering in Tenterfield, "The Story of Boulder Lodge" we have added that to our 'bucket list' as another must visit, not to mention spent some time there.

We arrived late at night, exhausted after a long drive from the coast, and our hosts welcomed us like old friends. We sat down at the dinning table with our take always, from the local restaurant The Mc Gregor Terrace food project. The house is traditionally decorated, comfortable and in pristine condition. The garden is meticulously maintained. Bedrooms are large and ensuites are modern and impeccable. We loved the extra large and plush towels and generous sized shower. We liked the personal touches that gave a sense of country comfort and friendliness. Breakfast is home cooked and we were offered a selection of local jams. All in all a positive experience
