A sad property with nothing other than location to praise. Well past its use by date, needs a thorough renovation! Booked last year and a week prior to arrival recieved a text saying NO restaurant or Bar but the restaurant would be open for breakfast only. Arrived at breakfast and was given a menu with the comment you have a choice of this, this or this! Three items only. No advance warning. Most staff helpful but the caucasian older women this morning was horrible with no concept of customer service. Full of excuses including that I was informed about the closures and that I should bring my own shampoo and conditioner if I didn't like 'conditioning shampoo'! No alleged four star property provides the poor alternative of shampoo/conditioner in one! Who is making these cost cutting decisions on a property that is meant to be 4 star. Same person told me kitchen closed due to renovations. On checkin was told it was due to no chef. Someone is lying to the guests! Given a room without balcony and outdoor furniture as inside? How ridiculous and if your property is almost empty ( and it is) upgrade the few guest you have to compensate for the mess and lack of service. I asked for Ice yesterday and was told they would have to see if they can find any. No warning of the issues, no warnings on the website as I tried to book a room for tomorrow and they would take my money with nothing to say that the resort is really closed! Stinger net not in operation yet no warning for that either. The property could easily be 5 stars but leaves a lot to be desired. Could simply improve with decent management and people with some idea of how to run a prestige property. Get rid of the moudly carpet on the walkways for a start.

Disappointed with food and beverage service, due to maintenance the kitchen was closed, however they told os that there was breakfast available. At the breakfast they did not had the choice that was presented on card. Rather unprofessional. The room was nice clean and spacious, however a little lack of maintenance, the pool area was fine but the pool was not looking clean, and could be better maintained, only 6 beach chairs around pool (due to limited space) The staff was nice and friendly and did their best to serve customers.

The location, pool and friendly staff are the only thing going for this so called “resort”. The rooms are a disgrace, the ceilings throughout the hotel are water damaged, and the entire building needs a renovation or at the very least damaged areas need repairing. Our room had rotting floor corners, thick rust on the fans and lights not functioning. One bedroom light is rigged up with a clip. There is no sink in kitchenette in the 2 bedroom family room and the room smells of covered up mould. We will not be back. A real shame for the staff as they had to hear all the negative comments from us and other customers. To the owners - make an effort!

We are locals who came to stay for a night for a birthday. In line with the other reviews- the rooms are very run down and old, but the view and beach access makes up for it. Our real disappointment laid in the restaurant experience. We had a dinner reservation and were seated, however were left without water or any drinks order for a good 20 minutes. It appeared the restaurant seemed understaffed which is fine- however once we eventually got the attention of a server he was incredibly rude, with no apology or explanation. Finally had our order taken and some water provided after being seated for 30 minutes. Food was nice, however with the inattentive service it really left a bad taste in our mouth. Disappointing!

Such a lovely spot, but the rooms are just so tired and old. Fabulous that they all have the balcony overlooking the amazing view, great spot to sit for a drink and to enjoy the breeze. The whole rooms need an overhaul. They are roadside 3 star motel standard so when you stay, know that you’re staying for the location, pool and not the room. Pools were absolutely freezing in October, not heated for colored months but a beautiful view. Restaurant food was fine, had a lovely curry and the worlds best Bloody Mary. Staff were welcoming, helpful and kind

The location is stunning, the views and access to the beach, you couldn’t ask for better. The staff on reception were helpful and most staff were great. Food was lovely in restaurant and reasonably priced. Unfortunately the rooms and premises are tired but we are told that they have plans to start updating. The noise in the corridors Carrie’s and guests speaking loudly while drunk woke us up several times. There was a wedding on and the actual wedding was not a problem but the noisy guests returning to their rooms were. The other big issue was at 5pm we went to have a shower and there was no hot water, apparently they were aware as having some work done but would have been nice to have a note popped under door so could plan accordingly. Generally a bit messy about the place too, it is meant to be a luxury resort, unfortunately it is not.

We had an overnight stay at Castaway’s to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The pro’s- Friendly staff. Heather in the restaurant is lovely. It was actually the friendliness of the staff who gave us the idea of staying here when we popped in for lunch a couple of weeks prior. Great location- you’re right on the beach and a quick stroll into town. The cons- The rooms are shoddy. Definitely tired and require a much needed makeover. Walls are marked and the mirror in the main bedroom needs replacing. As does the bamboo looking mirror base. The room could’ve also used a decent clean around the curtain rails. The spa in our room (208) didn’t work, and while we were told at checkout we could’ve called reception to have it looked at, I really wasn’t in the mood at 10pm to do so. No view to speak of as we were right over the restaurant which also was quite noisy until closing time. The pricing is up there, and we certainly expected better. Would we come back? Probably not unless the rooms get a major overhaul and I’d definitely be asking for a room with a decent view and not sat above the restaurant.

Much music in the night, because an weddingday. In the evening also much music. Bad resort for us. The breakfast was open at 7 and we've the drinks at 7:30. The madame of the hotel told us: sorry for that, no more.

A lovely place to stay. So nice being right on the beachfront and had the weather been better we would have loved to go in the pool. The staff were helpful and friendly too letting us check in early. Plenty of easy parking close to our room which was convenient.
