Made a last minute decision to check out Shelter Cove to explore the bottom section of the Lost Coast Tail & lucked out to find a room here! Super friendly staff over the phone and when we arrived. The rooms are clean and spacious with a little basket of goodies on the house in case ur starved. There are limited... More

Where do I start! Holy cow! Getting here is hard on your vehicle, long curvy road very steep and you are riding your brakes the whole time, got here at 5:30pm office closed, went around the corner to ring the doorbell, lady with baby answered and said to meet her back in office, cat feces in front of office, random... The rooms are gorgeous, large, airy, and every room has a screen door opening onto a private balcony. Our son chose to pull his sleeping bag out there to spend the night under the stars, even closer to the sea. I believe the owner was away while we were there, so we could not speak to the great staff experience... More

We arrived late on a Thursday after hiking the Lost Coast Trail. Pam was super accommodating. Our room was fantastic. Imagine hiking the beach for 4 days then spending the final night watching the sunset, listening to waves, while sitting in a Jacuzzi in your own room. The next morning we walked 30 feet out the door to explore the... More

Recently stayed here and the staff was very accommodating. They gave us directions from the entrance of shelter cove and warned of the no cell service before arriving. They had very good wifi and upgraded our booked room of a king, to 2 doubles, and put us on the third floor with an amazing view. The staff was very nice... More

Our room was very comfortable and bright. Lots of pillows and an extra comforter. It was great to be able to sleep with the screened patio door open to fall asleep to the waves and to wake up hearing seal barking. No iron and unable to connect to the wifi. Would stay there again.

We arrived too late for the sunset on a Sunday night but the view of the coast in the morning was lovely. We opened the patio door and fell asleep to the sound of the crashing surf. Wonderful! The beds were comfortable and the bathroom/shower were fine. We arrived after a very long drive up the coast – we had... More

The location is not suitable as a base for sightseeing, please see hotels own description on their website. Very difficult to get in and out of Shelter Cove. This is not a hotel, it is in fact a MOTEL, as stated on their own property sign, "Ocean Inn, Motel" so prices a little steep for a motel. An ugly hot... More

Great spot to stay here in Shelter Cove! Very affordable, and worth more than they're charging. No reason to stay anywhere else in town, unless you're needed more than one spacious room with a fantastic view. Restaurant is on the premises. Highly recommend visiting the Black Sands Beach while you're here. Enjoy...

If you are planning to stay several nights and more in Shelter Cove, then shop in Redway not Garberville (Rays Food Place is way too expensive). The drive to Shelter Cove is such s treat for your senses. Do stop at Blacks Beach and stay awhile. The stairs down will gladly bring you back up, plus their are alien giant... More
