Captain's Quarters offer Jacuzzi tubs with views of the surf. Oceanfront Inn is steps away from tide pools, fishing, boating, surfing and hiking. New flat screen TVs and free wi-fi keep you connected to civilization if you want to be. Or get away from it all and immerse yourself in the unparalleled natural beauty of the area.
Wonderful place, quiet and serene. We have stayed at hotels around the world as well as on the East coast of the USA and have never had such an amazing view of the shore looking down at the ocean from our balcony. Loved staying here. They are also dog friendly, but no elevator, so don't get stuck carrying luggage up and down on the 3rd floor or walking your dog up and down the stairs. The staff were helpful, and the rooms were clean. Will definitely return.

The Oceanfront Inn is a nice little hotel in the town of Shelter Cove along Northern California's Lost Coast. It is very secluded with one winding road in and out and about an hour east to the nearest town. Travelers should take note that cell service is spotty ( i have Verizon and had 4G LTE coverage but it was really slow). The Town has a few Food/Drink Options (shout out to Gyppo Ale Mill and The Fish Tank Coffee Shop) and a General Store as you come into town. The Oceanfront Inn is easy to find and check in/out was a breeze. The room (#21) was nice and clean and the bed was comfortable. I liked that every room has a beautiful view of the Pacific ocean, i also liked the binder inside the room that had info about the town and the surrounding areas. My only (small) gripe is the Keurig didn't work. Other than that, i will be back soon! Sorry i didn't leave a tip, i didn't have any cash on me :\...thank you!

I loved sitting on the balcony and watching the surf from the Oceanfront Inn. We were on the 3rd floor which had a nice view and I enjoyed watching the tides come in and out. I loved staying here. The room was clean and comfortable, the wifi connection was good and it was peaceful and relaxing. The manager was attentive; it was helpful to be able do a load of laundry too ($5 fee). Wish we could have stayed longer...

Terrible experience here in July 2024. Arrived to find no one there for checkin. Phone numbers didn’t work until the restaurant owner next door let me use their wifi. Got a call through eventually and was told the room i rented wasn’t available. Construction ongoing around the room. Got an inferior room where construction wasn’t finished The bay window pane was clouded and could hardly see through it. The patio was littered with construction debris. On second day the hot water was broken by the workers. Called owner, never called back. the clerk called and said we could use a room in the other building. Didn’t want to have to move. Horrible management. Bait and switch. gas heater not reconnected. Worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Go somewhere else. The entrance was littered with construction stuff. Noisy all day.

I was pleasantly surprised by two things: clean room and location.
We stayed at a very low quality motel in Jenna called Fort Ross Lodge right before this one, so this hotel looks so much better and more modern/cleaner. It looks like the rooms were recently updated. The bathroom is pretty clean, and amenities are OK. The size is big and spacious. They have toaster, refrigerator, and microwave in the room, so it is quite nice to have a quick bite in the morning. two queen size beds are good enough for 4 people, and plenty of towels provided.
The location is also pretty nice. It is literally right in front of the ocean. Sound of waves is so nice and soothing. The view from the room and balcony is great.
It is kinda difficult to get there. The road to get there from HWY101 is horrible. It is also disappointing that the restaurant is open only from Thurs to Sun. Mon to Wed, you have no meal option. Luckily, there is a brewery nearby, and their food was great. Note that the room rate is in the expensive side.

This is the perfect place to completely unwind and relax. We had the kitchenette. It was a full kitchen with everything you need including some spices. The room was extremely clean and comfortable. With our room we got the use of a large private yard and chairs to sit and watch the ocean and wildlife. The Inn Keeper, Donna, was very helpful. Answered all our questions and quick to fulfill any request we had.

Great customer service! Donna and Jen were amazing. The views from the room are outstanding. The room was very nicely decorated, and clean. Microwave, mini fridge and Keurig were all clean and worked great. Flatscreen with Dish network for entertainment (when you are not gazing at the surf or walking on the beach). WiFi signal was solid and modern electrical connections in the night stands with AC plugs and USB charging built in. The hotel is decorated with lots of flowers and plants. The hotel directory in the room has everything you need for a great stay. Restaurant menus, maps and tide schedules.

We got a room above the (defunct) restaurant with excellent views of the ocean. The surf is audible throughout the room, but we enjoyed that. Staff were helpful and prompt in answering our online and in-person queries.
For Covid, check-in and check-out are touchless, and room service is on demand.

Excellent stay! The room was large, nicely furnished and super clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. And, the ocean views are fantastic! There's a highly rated cafe in the building. Location is outstanding - walking distance to nearby tide pools, beaches, and local amenities. Shelter Cove is well worth the drive to get there and the Oceanfront Inn is a terrific place to stay.

The views are amazing! The room was spacious and clean. The balcony overlooking the Pacific is something you can't explain. You get up in the morning and go on the balcony and you can see and hear the seals "barking"! Amazing coffee shop downstairs. It doesn't disappoint.
