Set in rural Sussex, in the shadow of the South Downs, this exceptional family run free house is a joy to behold. In Bramber village (Best kept village in South East England multiple years) The Castle Inn Hotel and Conference Centre sits in magnificent splendour. The front of the Inn is bathed in glorious summer hanging baskets, meticulously cared for.To the rear is an English garden that, quite literally, takes your breath away. Packed with almost every plant imaginable for a garden there are a few surprises in store, such as the Strawberry and Tomato plants that seemingly go unnoticed until their juicy red fruit appears. Tranquillity best describes the atmosphere as you sit back and relax, only to be replaced by awe and wonder as Mr. and Mrs. Swan glide effortlessly passed on the stream, not five feet away, with their half a dozen signets

Called in for a drink whilst staying elsewhere in the village. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. This is a hotel and restaurant and a wedding reception was taking place during our visit. We only stayed for a drink but enjoyed ourselves.

We visited the restaurant for lunch. The menu was comprehensive and interesting. The service was excellent and the young staff who served us , Lois and Ed were delightful, pleasant and very professional. When the young get a bad press for no reason it’s nice to give credit where it’s due. The food was very good, piping hot, and value for money. We shall return.

I stayed here for only two nights thankfully whilst on business in the area. The pros were: - good food - strong wifi - sky tv The cons: - noisy: Bramber lodge - basic room and furniture - the bin hadn't been emptied and someone else's underwear was left on the floor - a double bed which was actually two cheap single mattresses pushed together. Uncomfortable. - patchy staff service, generally poor. I wouldn't stay again.

Room was great and so big for one person. Wi-fi was very good (something that cannot be said for other places I have stayed recently). Beer was exception. Evening meal was quite the best I've had there and the breakfast could not be faulted. The staff at breakfast were especially nice. Cheers

We asked for, and were lucky to get the new accessible room. As it was a sunny day we enjoyed a drink in the outside garden. This room was perfect for our needs, comfortable and with good facilities. Sky Sports so watched the cricket highlights! We didn't eat at the hotel but the breakfast was sufficient for our needs and perfectly adequate. We would certainly stay there again. This is a pretty village and the hotel was quiet and off the beaten track but not far from the main road (A27). I did notice that a direct bus to Brighton comes through the village. Quite a long ride in but if you have plenty of time, a bus pass and no money for pricey car parking in Brighton this could be for you!
