I understand that this place has just re-opened about 2 months ago and it looks it with pleasant dining room and good outdoor area however, yes looks good but it comes as no surprise to know that when you come to eat out what truly matters is the food. We were seated and ordered the food by 7.30 , the... More

We called in on a Sunday night to see what the Pub was like, having spent some time in one a short walk away. What a delight! The decor is lovely, apparently having been refurbished recently. We went out into the courtyard at the back and were delighted to find a fabulous gazebo/breeze house - lovely big table, soft cushions,... More

Came to thornham for a weeks holiday, had a few trips here during the week. Staff were really friendly even gave the dog biscuits, so he was happy. Eat here once and food was great and has a great selection of beer. Definitely worth a visit or two.

We were looking forward to trying this restaurant out as it has been recently refurbished. We have been coming to Thornham for 21 years and I'm shocked at the experience we encountered here. To briefly say...very very unfriendly and unapproachable staff, the manager is extremely ignorant...did not acknowledge us when we asked for the bill which is very disrespectful. The... More

This pub has tables outside, a large restaurant and a cosy bar. A good choice of alternatives. Soup followed by Holkham ribeye steak for one and haddock fillet with a duck's egg for one , ice cream and raspberry brulee for desserts with one cider and one tomato juice came to £65. Value was average but of course steak is... More

This establishment is clearly benefitting from being under new ownership. The facilities are attractive, comfortable and well presented, with attentive service. The menu is quite limited but features local produce so that is sensible according to season and for cooking freshly to order. Aside there is an attractive Pizzas speciality menu and also some tapas options. The food was most... More

First visit since Chequers has recently been reopened. Food & service were both excellent. Would recommend tapas & fish. My wife had the pizza which was also first class. All waiting staff/owner were very pleasant & didn't rush us at all even though we were the last guests still in the restaurant. Will definitely visit again. Well done.

We've eaten here four times in four days the food is that good. The lamb burger is beautiful, the oven roast chicken breast divine, the rib-eye tender and delicious and the smoked trout and citrus salad refreshing and full of flavour. The roast beef, lamb and vegetables we had for Sunday lunch were perfectly cooked. For us this is now... More
