Comfortable beds, tea and coffee in the room, tv, radio - this place has recently been refurbished and it shows, great attention to detail not just to the rooms but the common areas, pub and restaurant. Dogs allowed in rooms. Staff all helpful and friendly. Breakfast varied and good. Lots of cereals, croissants, juice and then cooked breakfasts which were...

Visited The Chequers for Saturday lunch. We enjoyed delicious tapas and well kept local beer. Staff very friendly and efficient. Dogs welcome in the pub. Good sized courtyard for the warmer (summer) months.

We went as a table of four last Wednesday, for dinner. We waited ten minutes before having to ask for a menu. We then had to catch the waiter's eye to order. I asked if the advertised pizza deal was still available to be told it had "gone off". Fine. We then ordered pizza and wine which we tasted but...

Came here on Easter Sunday as it was one of the only places available in North Norfolk. Ordered from the set menu and for only £25 the food was great value but also delicious. Would definitely recommend

The Chequers is one of 3 excellent pub-restaurant-hotels in the lovely village of Thornham. Despite such strong, high quality local competition, The Chequers Inn is definitely the pick of the bunch. Boasting terrific staff, superb cuisine and immaculate décor, this is an absolute haven of peace and indulgence. Knock-out welcome and atmosphere too.

After a smooth booking process via emails, we arrived to a warm welcome from Jemma and were shown our gorgeous room at the top of this old, but refurbished inn. We stayed in'Alder', which was spacious, spotlessly clean and modern decor. It had everything we needed - we particularly loved the roll top bath and large walk in shower. The...

We stayed for one night at the Chequers and were very impressed by the exceptional quality of the rooms and level of service we received. The rooms have been refurbished to a very high standard and we were particularly impressed with the provision of high standard toiletries, sloe gin and impressive tea making facilities. The breakfast was again a very...

When we arrived we were informed that quite a few of the dishes were off menu, this included all of the pizzas leaving a much reduced menu. Throughout the evening we heard the waitresses inform others that they had ran out of even more things! Having stopped at a few pubs along the way we were relieved to finally find...

Dear Steve L, Thank you for taking the time to share your recent visit. It would appear that we've not only let you down, but ourselves. Rest assured we are far better than last found, which most reviewers have vouched for. Although I say this with confidence its clear that we were someway off form Sunday night. My genuine hope...

I was lucky enough to get one of the last rooms at The Chequers Inn, a small but perfectly formed double. With every luxury of a room double the size there was nothing I could fault. The in-room facilities were second to none and the walk-in shower looked like I was the first person to ever use it. Martin Edwards...
