Always beautifully prepared, fine quality food and a varied choice. Lovely location in the country, a warm welcome from friendly staff and a nice informal atmosphere. Specially recommend roast beef for Sunday lunch.

My wife treated me for my 70th birthday at the Saracens Head. We enjoyed a fantastic 3 course meal served by polite, efficient staff who bent over backwards to make us feel welcome. Quite a traditional bed room but modernised en suite with piping hot water. But, most importantly, the bed is huge and really comfortable. Great breakfast the following...

Had a family celebration meal at this pub. The staff were very attentive and helpful and when two more family members arrived late after the chef had left, other staff made a cheese and meat platter for them, which was over and above their duties and extremely welcome. The food was good throughout. The pub decor is a little tired,...

Visited with friends whilst walking, limited menu, I had the Water Buffalo which was lovely. My Wife had the steak which was slightly overpriced. Crumble portion was on the small side. The pub itself has huge potential.

This is a really good resturant. The food is fresh and locally sourced. The lobster in the Thermidor was fresh and the dish tasted of lobster(really quite unusual for this dish!). The sea bream was served with a lobster bisque which was perfectly made. Breakfast was superb, kippers, eggs, bacon , sausage etc, and with really good coffee. Bedrooms are...

Came for a getaway with my family, we had a great stay in the family room, beds were comfortable and it was very roomy, we loved the feel of the old traditional building and the food was an 11/10. As I am a fussy eater, they even accommodated for me and my sister and made us a meal that wasn't...

I've read reviews before where a lot of credit is given to the 'warm host' this has always scared me. Although I expect good service, I'm afraid when I hear that phrase that there will be an over enthusiastic, in your face, too happy to please host waiting for me on arrival. Turns out I was wrong. My stay at...

Excellent evening. Service was extremely good, the menu was extensive and well balanced. Cooking was very good, with consistently excellent quality food firing out of the kitchen. Speed of delivery of food was just right, from order to table about 10 mins. With a full restaurant not easy to achieve. Probably best in area - I've known this establishment, since...

Enjoyed an excellent wedding anniversary dinner at this delightful country restaurant. Everything was cooked and presented beautifully, the slow roast shoulder of lamb with 'Italian sauce' in particular. It's not the first time we've visited the Saracen's Head and it certainly won't be the last!

We had a lovely a lovely room. The ensuite was a good size with a bath and a shower. The bed covers and quilt were a good quality, the only downside was that we both found the mattress a little hard. The upside was that we could have our dog with us throughout our stay which was wonderful. Friendly Owners!
