We were only travelling from Hayfield, but were camping overnight. We’d been walking for a couple of hours and just wanted somewhere for a quick drink. In spite of it being busy we were welcomed and managed a quick family break. From checking in to ordering, everything was done with the strictest adherence to Covid regulations and we were made to feel nothing was too much bother. A huge thank you to the landlady who made us feel very welcome. It’s been a tough year and places like this make me pleased to be able to visit. Look forward to coming back.

We visited here whilst stopping in Youlgrave. We all had delicious food served to us by friendly staff. There was a good selection of meals and portions were good (no pudding required!) Dogs were welcome which was perfect for us to allow us to eat out and bring our furry friend with us.

What a fantastic traditional pub. Full of charm and a genuine warm welcome. We visited on homemade pie night, which was delicious. Hopefully we can return for a winter break and stay at the pub. Would like to try their regular menu & enjoy the open fire.

On arrival we were made most welcome by the friendly landlady and owner Sharan. Nothing was too much trouble. Our newly refurbished room was very comfortable and clean with excellent facilities. Stayed for three nights and ate in the pub every evening. Food was good with ample portions. Breakfast was freshly cooked and nicely presented. Located in the beautiful village of Youlgreave and nearby to Chatsworth House. Thank you Sharan, and her staff, for a very enjoyable stay. We will be back soon.

The rooms are not the biggest but they are superbly finished and very comfortable. The food is good quality pub grub, the pies and cooked breakfast exquisite. Sharan, Giles and all the staff were very courteous and helpful. Youlgreave is a lovely village with a variation of easy and more challenging local walks
