We were a bit worried on arrival. The hotel ( pub) looked a bit run down and the approach to the rooms did nothing to ease our worries. I had booked a double room and a twin. We saw the double first and all was well. The twin room didn't disappoint either. Both the rooms were spotless with a good...

Went recently just for a drink as the festival was on. Great range of drinks with even though busy it was a good atmosphere. The staff were great, the layout of the pub was good also with really comfy seats. Would happily go back

Went as a family of 7 including a toddler and had to sit through our food listening to foul language and violent behaviour from drunk locals who were very intimidating. There was one man in particular who could not even stand yet they were still serving him alcohol which is completely wrong! No apology for there behaviour from waitresses. Food...

Poor rooms with pokey en suite facilities. There was noise from the bar and external air conditioning across from the window added to the cacophony. So bad we, and our friends, didn't even stay and, not through choice, forfeited the cost.

Just checked into our room, room number 7, a smell hit us as soon as we entered, ceiling in the corner is all cracked, wall paper falling off the ceiling, very disappointed to say the least. The whole hotel is very tired and in need of renovation. Checking in was a joke, just waiting around in a alcohol scented lounge...

We were looking for somewhere clean, comfortable and friendly for an overnight stay and this place definitely delivered. It is quite clearly a very old building but has been cared for and retains a lot of charm. The bedroom was very clean and well appointed and the bathroom was small but well equipped with an excellent shower. It is nice...

I'm not sure I'd honestly recommend this place to a friend! We stayed here last weekend for 2 nights and whilst the room was really nice, very large and very clean the staff and the food were just plain odd. The Manager (Peter) was really nice on the first night and then completely ignored us in the bar on the...

We had a lovely stay at this friendly hotel. When we drove into the car park we thought it could be shabby but this is far from the case. The room had quality furnishings and bed linen and was spotless. All of the staff made us very welcome.

Cannot fault the superb interested and interesting staff who are always cheerful, helpful and willing to go that extra mile to make your stay an enjoyable one. Have stayed here on a number of occasions and keep coming back for more. Very good comfortable rooms, large portions of excellent food from a modern menu, good selection of alcohol. Special thank...

Long time to wait for a train so called in here for lunch. Proper old fashioned pub with lots of original fittings. Good pub meal menu and beer. Had steak and ale pie which was hearty and as described. On the list for my next visit.
