We have been eating here regularly since about January this year the place always has pleasant buzz about it with locals and visitors mixing comfortably together. The young lady's Chloe, Dora & more recently Katy always look after us & the food is tasty, piping hot and reasonably priced. You can either eat in the bar or up in the... More

We stayed here for one night as part of a walking holiday. The staff were welcoming and the rooms were well appointed One room was more spacious than the other but both were clean and comfortable. There was a separate entrance which made access easy. The rooms were at the back so they were quiet. The food was tasty and... More

The pub was extremely busy when we arrived but check in was quick and fuss free and we were shown to our room. The room was quite small and the floral bedspread and pots of artificial flowers did not do it for us I'm afraid. The bathroom was also small and the door incorporated glass panels and despite being covered... More

I was originally sceptical about staying here as u don't like dogs and I had a conversation with one of the staff members who informed me they are a dog friendly bnb, dogs can sleep in the bedroom but not enter the food area. I was so wrong the bedroom was spotless the bed was so comfy , my bfs... More

On a day out in the peak district we came across The Horse and Jockey in the picturesque village of Tideswell at lunch time. It was a cloudy and damp Monday and after riding for two hours we were ready for some lunch. This is a traditional type of pub that is becoming rarer than hens teeth, thank God for... More

Really lovely old pub with friendly atmosphere. Food good value for money, Gluten Free available. I had the G/F fish and chips..lovely! Lots of original features in a great village. Village itself is well worth a walk round.

Nice enough pub, sat outside to eat, lovely food, had steak sandwiches and fries, well presented and well cooked, will visit again if passing through, pleasant staff, had dogs with us which were not frowned at as they are in some venues, dog water bowl outside with fresh water

Good food, good ales, good pub! If you want good pub food look no further. Had a couple of meals here and had no complaints. Steak and mushroom ale pie was lovely, nice chunks of steak and burgers were nice and tasty. Friendly service, food piping hot and good guest and house ales to wash it all down!. Will be... More

This is what I call a proper English pub, a great selection of real ales in wonderful condition served with a smile in a traditional village style atmosphere. The pub has good eating facilities both bar style and a small cosy restaurant, the food is good quality pub food and well priced, so if you are out for a walk... More
