The George is a nice hotel. Maybe in need of a bit if a makeover in the public areas but this is more than made up for by the friendly, welcoming staff. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Our room was beautiful, more than big enough and very comfortable. Hathersage is brilliantly located for the Peak District and/or Sheffield.

This is a very nice hotel, it has a good car park and very friendly reception staff. Our room was very comfortable, with a sitting area (for which I think we paid a bit more). The bar is small and there is at table service before dinner. The staff were most friendly and helpful and the food was lovely. The...

What a lovely hotel, with charming and very helpful staff. We stayed over three days in order to see Chatsworth, Haddon Hall and Lyme Park. We took my 84 year old mother and her friend who had some disabilities, but could manage the stairs. There was a change of room for the disabled friend as she had a single room...

My husband and I stayed at the hotel for two nights over Easter. We had no complaints with the hotel other than the very thin walls. We stayed in one of the ground level double bedded rooms (24) which was fine, nothing special but had everything you needed and was reasonably priced at £95 per night. However, we could literally...

We chose The George in Hathersage as it looked lovely. We stayed for 2 nights, the staff were very friendly and did all they could to make our stay a pleasant one. We had dinner in the restaurant one night which was delicious. We stayed in a premier room, that was stunning and worth the extra money in our opinion....

Wow, the hotel was beautiful, rooms were amazing, staff were very attentive...couldn't fault a thing. The owner of the hotel introduced himself, which was a lovely touch. we didn't have an evening meal in the restaurant, but ate in the lounge, the portions were plentiful and extremely tasty. Would love to return. Thank you for a lovely 2 days.

Had only a one night stay in the Peak District ,and stopped at the George Hotel in the village of Hathersage , on the chance they would have a room. They did ,and they also have a secure car park, good start. The room we had was at the front and was very comfortable. The staff were excellent and couldn't...

Just spent one night here for a surprise for my husband. I booked a superior room as it was a special occasion. It was fabulous, what a lovely room. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We had a meal and were joined by my husband's sister and her husband, they loved it too. The meal was stunning, a real treat....

Stayed here for a night in April 2017 and really enjoyed our stay. Hotel room was well decorated and the bathroom was faultless. A 10/10 for the bath! Really nice touches as well with free mineral water and the usual bits and bobs. Opted to eat away from the hotel but menu looked nice. Breakfast was tasty, would have maybe...
