Wow, where do I start! A beautiful cosy pub with a very traditional and welcoming atmosphere! We were recommended through a friend who's nephew is the head chef. When we arrived the staff were super friendly and couldn't do enough to make us feel comfortable. We were seated in a bay window table near the log burning fire. We all... More

Spent one night here at the start of the Inn Way walk across the Peak District. Nice welcome and comfortable room. Enjoyed our evening meal however lots of dishes were off the menu due to being so busy. Enjoyed our visit.

Absolutely smashed it. Had a cracking walk in the local area, searched for a nearby decent place to eat and found The Scotsman's Pack - sufficed to say, both Jess and I thought it was the best food we'd had in a LONG time. Not your standard pub this... Top effort!

We booked a last minute get away and wanted something reasonable and clean. We were pleasantly surprised to get a lot more. The standard of room was higher than what we'd expected for the price we paid, it was immaculate with great facilities such as ample hot drinks supplies. To top it off the pub was vibrant with friendly staff... More

What a lovely place, friendly welcoming staff, comfortable rooms with lovely fluffy towels and white cotton sheets, the food was superb and a great selection of wine! I couldn't resist the fish finger sandwich!! I wasn't disappointed! Also, chef made us scotch eggs with some black pudding in them to take for lunch on our walk the next day -... More

Myself and my family have been here a few times now and we have never been disappointed. The staff are always very friendly and welcoming and they really help the place feel very homely and relaxing. The food is always delicious and the portion sizes are more than generous.Would highly recommend.

Stayed on Saturday night with friends after a long, wet walk. Very friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. In the evening we ate good food served in hearty portions accompanied by a nice bottle of wine (or two). We will be back!

Staying for long weekend in cottage nearby, went for a couple of drinks Saturday evening. Pouring with rain but welcoming staff and roaring wood burner. 4 or 5 real ales on.Tried a couple which were well kept. Came back to eat Sunday evening with a party of 8 adults, one a wheelchair user, and 3 small children. Staff could not... More

I stayed one night here on my way up to the Dales. Warm, efficient welcome from friendly staff; great local atmosphere in the bar; wide range of beers; outstandingly good evening meal; comfortable room (4 poster in room 1); very tasty cooked breakfast. I will definitely stay here again.
